Short story: Been talking to a jw friend since a little after his wife died last November. The man gets married and lies to me about it. I don't care if he's married and lying about it was just stupid He's got problems.

When they told me to just meet men, they kept telling me that it was not necessarily permanent. I know, however, that it was necessarily permanent because they wanted every bit of sexual energy I had to be rechanneled into the Value Destroyer Training School and into rebuilding the whole organization so they would be able to start the Second Dark Ages. I would say they were caught in a blatant lie.

Yes! A few years ago I released a book about the JWs.

The local newspaper ran an article on it and their reporter went and asked the presiding Elder about their shunning policy.

His reply was published, 'It is not our policy to shun people who leave but I can understand our members not wanting to associate with someone who has criticized something they value.'

    What a porker!

Yes. On more than one occasion. From elders and other members.

    Sheesh! What a bunch!

too many to recount! Specific one that immediately comes to mind is when my ex-husband and i were 'courting' he told me he had been arrested for theft from his employer adn had to do community service for a few hundred hours. The elders knew and got me to one side to tell me not to tell anyone, for my OWN REPUTATION'S sake! If would not have looked good for my boyfriend to be a criminal, what with my dad being PO and everything.

He never even got reproved or anything. I, of course, was disfellowshipped when i left him....
