I've read the life application/ living bible cover to cover 5 times and here and there since the mid 90's.
They call it a paraphrase bible.
I found it easy to read.
I've been out since 83. I considered myself a Christian till about 2003.
Then all the bible reading I did led me to being an agnostic.
If you want to believe you have to be child like.
The kind of child that doesnt read.

So for being called a "big stinky poopy head" I can only respond this way: There's this thing on the Interwebs called "Google". Google "NIV Bible" and your question will be answered.

When my hubby decided to getting another Bible, he choose the NIV. He did some research on it and definitely wanted to get a Bible that wasn't attached to a religion. We still compare translations though and don’t stick to just one Bible.
We had also planned to get an interlinear. In the mean time, we use the web. http://www.studylight.org/ and http://www.greeknewtestament.com/
But now that we no longer need to prove that the NWT is mistranslated, we don’t research each scripture as much.
