Inactive for a few years and no contact. Does being inactive count?

By very early 2006, my mother had questioned my former congregation to find out if anyone had requested my "publisher card." She was informed they hadn't, which meant I wasn't attending meetings.

This really pisses me off. Why would your Publisher Record Cards™ be any of your mother's business? There ought to be some confidentiality. When I moved to a different province, the local Elders™ never bothered to request my Publisher Record Card™, they just started a brand new one. The CO vouched for me because he knew me and my family from the old congregation and he had just been assigned to the Circuit™ to where I'd moved. Not protocol, but I'm sure I'm not the only one whose Publisher Record Card™ never got forwarded.

There is no excuse for someone to not contact me, other than they simply don't want to."

Do you want them to contact you?

You would be the same guy bitching if they were to try and get a hold of you. Is this mainly a XJW problem? Bitch if they do or bitch if they don't.

I have had many call and come to talk since my DFing in 05. Many I still like and are good people. They're only doing what they think is right for you. Remember you were once part of the same menality.

Nope, no contact here. I DA'ed in 1996. English speaking congregation must have my house marked. Spanish speaking brothers stopped by one time while in field service. They didn't know us. We had a lively discussion, with them wondering OUTLOUD how I knew so much about their religion (I actually knew more than they did)(they denied only 144,000 going to heaven, with only anointed left being JW's). There were questions they couldn't answer, so they said they'd get the answers and come back. Still waiting.....it's been years now. No visits since then...Spanish congregation must have marked my house now.

I don't think you get the point of the post. I think the person is trying to point out that the elders once again are not doing the job they are supposed to do. They are hypocrites and this is one more detail that proves it that's all.

Df'd 20 years ago--moved to "worldly" father's area a year later. Contacted in my new area by elders from the local congregation more than 5 years ago and nothing since. Did have mags left on the porch at our current house where we've lived for 5 and a half years. Mom still in has my address. I posted about this last week:

I DA'd 5 years ago. No elders have tried to contact me, but publishers™ came to the door on 2 occasions and tried to place™ magazines.

Where I live is well known to the local BOE - half of whom I trained!

Not one call over the past 3 years. JWs did drive in yard one day when I was out watering the garden. They saw me, slammed on the brakes and backed out, me giving them a big smile and hello.

We did have the last tract left in the door, and a mag one time, I think.

If they did call on me, I would tell them to make an appointment to come back, as I refuse to take another cold call from a JW elder. I think it's unbelievably rude to just stop at someone's house to have a discussion like that, catching people off guard, without an appointment.

I'd love to have them sit down and explain a few things to me!

A question: If the ex-JW is a known apostate, to JW thinking, are they supposed to still try and contact them?

I do think the elders avoid this work as it puts them in very uncomfortable and vunerable positions.

When I pioneered™ I would have counted that as a return visit.

I hope they never attempt to help recapture me.
