Just like everyone else said - you can't just move on. We were in a cult.
Why am I still on JWD? I left for a couple of years, with no lurking. Just got tired of it, if you know what I mean. IT's a phase, and I'll probably have another one once I'm sick of re-hashing the old bunk. It's a cycle for me.
When you are an active JW it consumes your whole life. In fact, you are told by the FDS that you no longer live for yourself. You live for Jehovah and his purposes. I think it is only natural to seek out others who have experienced this lifestyle and who no longer are a part of it.They help you to gain some understanding of things, give support and sometimes a good laugh.
Anyone being screwed by a company/organization/goverment wants to be in the know ... pure and simple. Next!
hubert... good point. It's very important to have a bit of a "safety net" when first exiting the JWs. It can be a very traumatic experience.
This reminds me of the person who was obsessed with chickens, thinking that he was a chicken ...
When asked why he wouldn't go to a psychologist for help, he replied ,

Hubert - I do have to agree with you that point.
I'm not interested in any religion, I'm more interested in the people...their stories and experiences.
Since so many here, has simular backgrounds as I have, I of course find them even more interesting.
And I'm still waiting to find someone on here that went to the same KH's I did. do you think I'm the only one that escaped?

Plus, I get to count my time on JWD ...
It's not that I don't want religion, what I don't want is the ball and chain.
Besides, it's fun to know we're getting the new light before they do..
As long as oyu have a spouse in the borg...you have to use JWD just to keep your sanity. You have no idea how close I came to becoming that guy you read about who murders a family member. JWD almost actually saved my wife...
