This stuff, Tecnu, works amazingly well when you've been rolling around in Poison Oak or Ivy.
Unfortunately, you've waited too long for this product to do much good. Good to have on hand for the future though.
I've used it on kids who had HUGE exposures of Poison Oak to bare skin and they never had a single bit of skin irritation the next day. BUT, I got them rubbed down with Tecnu and bathed within an hour of the exposure.

I know what worked for me, but it may be too late for you now. The last time I felt the poison ivy starting on my arms, I immediately wrapped the area with cling wrap for several hours. It went away.

when I was a kid, I lived in rural Pennsylvania. Poison ivy thrives there. I had more than my share of it. If I would go swimming in the community pool, I would get rid of the horror part of it in a day or two. I assume it was the chlorine in the water. When I was older I used to cut my own firewood; once I got it on my face and it looked like it was going to get in my eyes.The doctor gave me prednisone tabbs and it cleared it up fast.
Doctor...shot and a scrip cream to speed the drying and contain the spread...shower in water as hot as you can stand it to releve the itching....till you can get to the doctor and get proper medicine...as bad as you have it, it will continue to spread.....
Today the saga of my infestation continues .WHY oh Why does my yard want to kill me ? I walked about trying to determine what the culprit was , but i can only guess it was something growing in the bushes.
The blisters are breaking and new crops of bumps are now popping up on my left boob and stomach ! I assure you my boob had nothing to do with pulling weeds .
The doctor started me on Predisone six-day regime . I also have been googling for treatments . So far I have done super hot showers , ice cube rubs , bought Anti-itch cream from Johnson&Johnson. Thought about the bleach treatment put I have sensitive skin and didn't think a chemical burn on top of this would be a good thing . I did soak in a hot-tub last night though .
Tonight my eyeball has developed a blister sh*t that is not good . I don't know if it is related to the rash or not ,it has happened before has something to do with allergies and old scar tissue from a scratch .
Poison Ivy on your boob ? That's just not right ! I guess when god wanted to curse the ground he went all out.Anywho, I'm glad you didn't pour bleach on it too because with sensitive skin you're likely to have major flare up with that stuff.Hope it clears up soon.
Give the predisone a day or two- it'll dry you right up. I get a course annually for poison ivy.
Tough stuff them poison weeds. I helped one of my cousins tear down a fence that had vines embedded in it. My cousin was wearing long sleeves, gloves and other assorted protections but to no avail. He still broke out bad. Me? I had on short sleeves and was pulling the stuff off bare handed, virtually wallowing in the weeds but not a spot came up on me. Kryptonite on the other hand just seems to drain me. Go figure.
