I like Mike Epps, Cedric the Entertainer, and Martin Lawrence. So I rented "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins". Didn't laugh once.

I like Tracey Morgan and Ice Cube. So I rented "First Sunday". It was even worse than "Roscoe".

What's wrong with black comedians? When did they stop being funny?

The Apatow movies are spoiling me.

at the risk of sounding like a right winger......... black "comedians" pander to an audience made up of Junior high aged kids. The younger generation of black comics really dont have much to say. "White people have me down" just doesnt play well coming from a multi-millionair guy like Chris Rock.

Bring me a Redd Foxx, Nipsey Russel, Bill Cosby.............. (list goes on)........anyday.

Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are still funny, IMO.

it seems to me like they try to make "black comedy" based on type casting of the black culture...like they are making fun of themselves and I dont find that funny. I did love Flip Wilson, Bill Cosby made my sides split and Richard Pryor... I still keep renting the movies though..hoping I will be entertained. :)

If you guys havent seen "Death at a Funeral" which is NOT black comedy...check it out. It was VERY funny.

co-sign nvr. They are the cream of the comedic crop, especially Chappelle, and a match for any of the older black comedians, imo. Cedric is a better actor than comedian, though I doubt he could pull off much besides throw-away comedic roles... but you never know. Has he ever done a straight role?

This will sound bigoted; but I'm wondering what you're wondering, JimmyPage, but I'm wondering it about hispanic comedians in heneral(sic)(k). I just don't find them funny. And that goes all the way back to Cheech and Chong. I hate to tell it to ya folks, but your accent is not funny enough to form a career around. It's just an accent.

    I agree, Chappelle is hilarious.

As far as hispanics go I like the George Lopez show.

    Chris Rock just rocks.

Maybe comedians are just funnier doing standup and not so funny in movies.
