My husband forwarded this to me a few hours ago:
Keep in mind the egg is smaller than a tic tac and a quarter fits the opening of the nest!
Be sure to click on NEXT PAGE at the bottom of each page; there are 5 pages in all. A lady found a hummingbird nest and got pictures all the way from the egg to leaving the nest. It took 24 days from birth to flight. Because you'll probably never in your lifetime see this again, enjoy; and please share.

Magical.
I wonder where this was?
I love Hummingbirds.

Thanks for sharing that with us Parakeet. That is so sweet, they are so helpless for a few weeks then off they go. I am fascinated by hummingbirds but have never seen their little nests or baby hummingbirds. We have a feeder in front of our kitchen window and sit at the table there and watch them for hours. They sure seem to eat a lot. We have Ruby throated Hummingbirds up here in Ontario Canada.

Glad you all liked the site. As you can tell from my avatar, I'm a bird freak of the highest order, although I no longer keep pet birds. Over the years, I've found that I love birds more when they are living their own lives, free of dependence on us (although I do keep a feeder in the backyard).

Same here,
I love Bird Watching, and also feed them.

I do have some parakeets tho, and a Huge Parrot... talk about dependence...!! They are rescues and could never survive on their own.
After these guys pass on, no more.... too much work.
Hummingbirds fascinate me, I am so into miniatures......... The pic with the penny in the nest, blew me away...
