Beautiful, fascinating little bird. I love watching them flit about.. actually they are quite friendly w/humans.
An especially cute baby bird is the mourning dove. Looks just like the parents at an early age.

We have a feeder in front of our kitchen window and sit at the table there and watch them for hours
A few weeks ago I spied a hummingbird trying to feed on a Colorado Blue Spruce in my front yard. No flowers on that tree of course, so I ran right down and got a feeder for it. I've only seen it once or twice since though. I really don't understand that Spruce thing.
But I do have kind of a funny bird story. It's been years since I've seen frogs around my house and I miss the croaking. About a month ago I heard a frog again. I was jazzed! Sadly I could never really pin down where that frog was. Last week I was chatting with one of my long time neighbors about it (he's also an avid birder), and it seems that it wasn't a frog at all but a Mockingbird that's been hanging around lately doing a frog call. Damn birds. He had a good laugh at my expense...I hope the Mockingbird enjoyed the joke as well.
