It's theocratically laminated, which give the books the "special protection" to make it through the Great Tribulation.

Witnesses can now rest their beers, and eat a meal off certain books.....cool!

I agree with heathen. Headquarters will now ask for MORE donations for new laminating machines. They should look at HSN. So much for simplifying things!! Do any of you remember the pink song book? They had a deluxe one that was soft leather (I think) and had gold edging on it. As a kid I would try to scrape off the gold. (I thought it was real) I used too think that the brothers and sisters who had these "deluxe" copies were somehow more special.

I wonder if they will now be fireproof.
Just a thought
LOL
I loved the "Box of turds" comment.
Tell 'em it's chocolates and see how many ask for more. -
Honesty
Heads always bob up and down whenever the "Faithful Slave" speaks to the masses.

To me it also shows that the rank and file are not "donating" for the publications. Ah, yes. I'll bet that's why some were nodding appropriately. They will reduce the amount of their donation, feeling that this will furnish them with a bit of relief. Maybe that's why they studied the Revelation book so many times----it was one of the last hard-bound books they had published. Woe to the ones that get the new laminated books...they will last through innumerable studies!!! Also-I always looked on with envy at the ones who had their books sent of to have them put in the spiral thingies. How theocratic they were, I thought!!

If they "laminate" the books in a brick of epoxy, this is good news.

So what. The book will be just as useless when new light comes along to contradict what's inside.

Oh dear! Joy of joys....the books might last a bit longer!
As with Lady Zombie, I suspect they won't be printing the things for much longer but will be expecting the congs to 'print your own' and then in some way charge them a contribution for each down load.

I don't see the problem with having things laminated.
I had my drivers license laminated and it looks just fine.
