Ginny T, Ginny's son, my daughter, me...just finished over-eating, as is the tradition in this country. We're enjoying a glass of Chardonnay, sitting in front of a fireplace, plunking tunes on a grand piano, and looking out at Puget Sound. Ginny says it reminds her of the west coast of Norway. Her son is fascinated by the ferry boats coming and going right outside the window. The scent of herb-roasted turkey still hangs in the air.

The four of us wish you all a happy day of remembering the good things in life. What could possibly be pagan about such a time? Life is good here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We wish you were all here with us (there was certainly enough food!)

Tina: thanks for the call yesterday, Sweetie...you made my day.
UncleBruce: where are ya, Hon? Drop off the bottom of the planet?
Farkel: goodies coming your way soon (you'd love this piano, darlin', wish you could be here to play it)
Norm: We're having salmon tomorrow. You'd love it here!!!
Alan and Julie: Next to scenic Colorado, this is the best place ever. Wish you were here.
You Know: November is almost over, and stocks are climbing back towards 10,000 mark.
Seeker: countdown to movie premier! Can't wait!!!

Everyone else....take care, unbutton your pants, have a lovely evening (or morning depending on where you are!)

    Wasa,

I'm glad you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I had to take a two hour nap after our feast!

Please tell Ginny hello for me and I hope you enjoy the rest of your visit.

Sounds delightful, sis! Thanks for sharing. My own Thanksgiving was spent at home alone due to a nasty case of something (strep throat, I think) that got hold of me last Sunday and still hasn't let go. I was scheduled to spend the day with a new friend and her extended family, but had to cancel. Bless her heart, she brought a plate by for me... home-cooked goodies galore, including pumpkin pie and cherry cobbler. Yummy!

Life is good, even in quarantine! Happy holiday to all y'all.

Don't forget to thank the lord for your fingers, Simon, and girlfunkel. Also Kodachrome, sushi, and which's that don't belong. Which would be sushi, btw.

Girlfunkel? Don't ask, 'cuz I don't know. It was a stretch, I admit it.

    Comf, get well soon.

    Wassa,

Thank you for sharing the fine image of the fine time you had. Give my regards to Ginny and her son - real good people.

I got my first email from Norm the other day. I told him he either has to move here or we all have to move to Norway.

    Ranchette,

It is nice to put a face with a name. Give my regards to your daughter and old what's his name, your hubby.

My Thanksgiving was nice. All three kids were here with their spouses, two grand children and two in laws. We all get along, and it was a friendly, peaceful, happy time. The two in laws live about three hours from us, and their three children have all moved out of town. I think they really enjoy their time with us as a family. If they were not with us they would be home alone. I am glad they choose to be with us.

Mommy was tired out at the end of the day, and so were the kids. This is the first year in several where one of the bunch didn't want to stay a little longer and play euchre. I think my kids are getting old.

    Thankyou for sharing wassa,

In just a few short sentences, you made thanksgiving overlooking Pugent Sound the best place on earth to be the other night. I haven't fallen off the planet .. that's not till Monday and I'll be writing as soon as I'm back home.

My Thanksgiving was great considering I was sick as a dog. My wifey worked until 6PM last night, leaving me to do all the cooking. No big deal, I'm ALWAYS the holiday cook, and probably 75% of the other cooking as well. The Turkey came out juicey. Sean was excited about stuffing the turkey, so we did (I normally cook the stuffing seperately for speed of cooking and dangers of Salmonela poisining). I made two pumkin pies and one sweet potato pie including a homemade crust that I honestly still need to work on. The meal was great though it was just four of us (my 12 yr old son went to NC to spend the holiday with his mom. Afterwards, again at Sean's behest, we watch the George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol". This is actually becoming a tradition with us every year, but he brought it up LONG before I did.

This year was the first time Sean had been present to see a T'day meal prepared, though he has eaten one with my family before. He's righteous JW dad would buy a turkey roll and make stove top stuffing and say it was because that stuff was just sooo Cheap at this time of year.

Today Sean and I made "Christmas Pudding" ala what you see Mrs Cratchet make in "A Christmas Carol". It was our first attempt, it came out like a cake, I think I need a smaller mold and a better way to keep the moisture out of the works (the pudding is steamed). Sean is reading the books given to him by the priest and seems excited about starting the inquiry classes Wednesday. I go see a Lawyer wednesday about becoming Sean's guardian. I'm preparing for the storm when Garry finds out about that and the fact that Sean is taking the inquiry classes. Prayers and well wishes are welcome. In his last phone call Garry had threatened to come down here and pick Sean up, I half expect to see him either this weekend or next. Before all this blew up with Sean Garry had said he would come down to see Sean at Christmas. I wonder what his reaction to the Decorations, etc will be? I will not compromise my Christmas one iota for Garry's sensbilities, all the kids get Christmas gifts, and they open them on Christmas morn just like every year.
