Six, I love John Prine. I loved his duet with Nanci Griffith called Gulf Coast Highway. She co-wrote it. I was listening to the first link you posted and I got an explorer error message. I'll have to try again.
FHN, super song, and Ronnie Wood
Yes! I was wondering if anyone would remember or notice Ron Wood was with Faces. I always thought they resembled each other with their spikey hair. And then he went on to become a Stone. He and Keith Richards sort of favored each other when they were young. But Ron seems to have better genetics in the wrinkles dept.
Beks, the John/Taupin song writing team were amazing, in the early days that is. Like Rod, once the disco days hit, they sort of ran out of good ideas. When any good group or singer song writer goes mundane or overly commercial, I call it their Rod Stewert Disco Phase.
Here is another excellent Rod Stewert Pen: Gasoline Alley. Hard to believe this is the same man who did Tonights the Night and Hot Legs.

Jeff Buckley

I listened, Avi, and I liked it. Thank you.
Colin Hay from men at work, his acoustic stuff is phenomenal. This may be the most beautiful, heartbreaking song I've ever heard. Listening to it alone may not be advised. I don't tear up easily, but this song gets me every time.
Hillary, I only remember Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues, but I liked the song very much. Some gotta win. Some gotta lose.
Really diggin ' this guy. Damien Rice
Thank you all for your contributions, especially those who see the point of the thread, like Avishai and Six, who are introducing seldom heard performers who should be heard far more often.
Here are a few more:
Robert Wyatt. Bless you Bob for all you have done:

Dick Gaughan. What a herd of passion this man has and he has influenced some of the best:

Essra Mohawk. Obviously herself very heavily influenced by Laura Nyro in which there is no shame at all, but definately a gem in her own right and very underplayed:

Christine Collister who sang with Clive Gregson and Richard Thompson for years has a voice that is unique and seldom gets serious airplay Stateside. Here she is singing of all things 'Amazing Grace' in St Pauls cathedral:
