I agree with the people that are saying that sending them a letter is just playing their game. If you are truly out, you don't owe them anything. The less you have to do with them the better. Don't let them control you anymore. Stay away and don't look back.

I like Blondie's idea of publishing it in the local paper.

    or this

oompa: i would sneak mine on the bulletin board

    or

Carbon copying Bethel. If they are trying to pump local numbers, will Bethel follow up?

I think you should tell us more of your experiences working in Bethel, Walkill, etc. We'd love to hear about them.

As for mailing the letter.....who cares? I'd let them waste their time trying to catch me doing stuff instead of trying to convert other unsuspecting victims.

WAC, if you want to send the letter... the DA means you won't even get an annual hounding call...

It also sends a message to those left in... "if WAC, a former Bethelite leaves, why am I here?" they might think....I second what dawg and others said on the previous page.

My vote is a for the one that would do the most good, a Public DA letter in the local Paper. Briefly explain what it is and why you are doing it, Give websites for research, post the letter and then give the public tips on how to be put on the "Do Not Call List"

Let me know if you need it notarized, I'd be happy to do that for you

    Nice post, lwt...

I sent an email out to about 20 people AFTER my DA announcemnet... that has caused qite a stir in my cong... they even had to do a local needs on it..

And I still send out email "updates" to a couple of unfortunate JWs who I have targeted in the hall, just cause I know their email address... I know it irritates them to no end (but actually that is done to stir up the hornet's nest so that they will bug my wife, and push her out of the org.. which they are doing very nicely...)

You never know. It was when a long time elder did the same thing in my Cong that got me thinking. He didn't DA due to family reasons. He just left one meeting and never came back. That really did a number on me. I am sure your stance has did a number on ones in your cong. too.

I bet the letter got "lost". Meaning, if you send another, it too will get "lost". There has to be some reason why they would want you to stay a witless.

Which is not good. Most likely, it is so they can continue putting in fake times and inflate their numbers (if they break 7 million, I will know that at least one of those is fake). There could be even more nefarious reasons why they want you back, especially if you are unmarried and have no prospects. Definitely, this is nothing to fool around with.
