Why did you first come here?
A combination of 1 & 2.
1. searching the net for info about JWs
2. came from another website
I read about "JWD" on other sites but it took me a while to find this place since JWD was nowhere in the web address.
I just now did a google search for "JWD" and this site is the FIRST HIT! It didn't used to be that easy.
Yay Simon! (If he had anything to do with that.)
On an emotional level where were you when you first came here?
5. other
Wrestling with all kinds of internal doubts and fears. Going in circles. Example:
Demon on one shoulder : "WT must be crap because of A, B, C & D."
WT angel on other shoulder: "Your ETERNAL LIFE hangs in the balance! Don't you DARE look at the POISON!"
How long did you read before you started posting?
I lurked in the non-member threads for a couple months before working up the courage to actually register as a member of Satan's horde and commit the unforgiveable sin of reading "apostate" material. It's embarrasing now to look back and realize those kind of thoughts were actually swirling in MY grey matter. I still lurked for 7 more months before working up the nerve to actually post.
If you go back in your history what was your first post?
1. a question
Actually two questions:
1. Would you un-ring the bell? (Of fading, DAing or DFing)
2. Just how secure is it to post here?
Have you gone through the archives (older posts) to. . . .
1. do some research on the JWs or a particular topic related to the WTS
2. was bored and started looking
3. used the Best of . . . section to research various topics
Yes to all. The Archives on here are priceless, IMO.
If you have been here for a while why do you stay
1,2,3,4&5.
Mainly 5: helping others.
I will always feel a certain debt of gratitude to the wise and courageous people who have gone before me. When I look at the depth of research done by the likes of AlanF, or the volumes of supportive posts done by other caring people over the years, I can't imagine not popping in from time to time to help out in my own little way.
Good post Lady Lee, and thanks for all your hard work on JWD.
