If someone needs that "hold on" so to speak - I guess I pity them.

Many, many years ago I used to feel the same way. Now I understand that pity is not helpful, one bit. Respect is the way.

So, if I don't feel bad telling a normal guy "no thanks," then I don't feel bad telling a guy in a wheelchair, "no thanks."

It would be different if he were trying to solicit a donation to some sort of fund--unfortunately I'm still a sucker for that. It's a bit harder to resist.

Why does someone in a wheelchair deserve a pass? They can't walk but they should be able to THINK! I have fantasies about what I'll do next time the j dubs knock on my door. I will always be respectful to them....cuz thats how my j dub mom raised me....but I would love to turn the tables on them and ask some really hard questions and make THEM think. If you explain to wheelchair how you feel, he may start to think, I mean REALLY use his noggin and you could be doing him a huge favor.

If I knew then what I know now, I sure as hell would have wanted someone to tell me, regardless of my physical condition. The poor guy has already lost the use of his legs. You going to let the WTS suck out his brain as well?

Hey, that didn't stop the brotherhood from disfellowshipping a wheelchair bound elder in Calgary. I hope the man regained his balance and went on with his life. He is a great guy.

I don't bother the older ladies. They've lived their entire lives in a dream. It would be cruelty to crush it. It would negate all they believed and acted on their whole lives.
