I'm thinking of that WATER4GAS offer -- you tried it on your vehicle?

James Woods is exactly right about this. If it were possible for a few hundred dollars to get 60% better fuel economy, don't you think GM would be retrofitting all their SUV's and trucks that are sitting unsold on dealerships with this technology? Their stock price is in the toilet because of bad fuel economy. UPS uses a computer program to map routes to eliminate as many left turns as possible (in the US, opposite I'm sure in the UK), so that they can save fuel by not sitting in traffic waiting to make a turn across oncoming traffic. Wouldn't a company that goes to such extremes to save gasoline be all over a technology like this? Common sense should tell you it can't possibly work.

Galileo's comments are spot on. It costs a hell of alot more than this "device" to add hybrid technology to a vehicle with the "same" results. If this had any merit it would have been installed years ago.

When gas first started going to $2, I remember all these devices were hitting the market. Fuel additives, capacitors added to the ignition wires, goofie devices added to the air intake to create a tornado effect. They're all BS

I even started working on a still to brew bio-fuel. Problem is that it costs more than gas when you get the end result (substantially)

I still remember my days at GTE Sylvania as if they were yesterday.

Large corporations are almost as unwieldly as large governments.

These arguements don't hold water. They sidestep the topic the op presented. I'm never amazed at the Watchtoweresq arguments used here. Have you tested any of these rudimentary devices?

Galileo of all names. Do you see the irony in this?

I'd say if it worked the government needs to make sure everybody is converted by paying for it . If we can blow a billion a day on a pointless occupation then I think something should be done right here with our own money. BTW I did hear it only increased somebodies mileage by 3 mpg. I think there are allot of solutions to our problems and we just have a deliberate incompetent government .

My comments were secondary because the primary points were made by james_woods. In a nutshell, according to the sources I trust (the most recent being the founders of the New England Skeptical Society on their latest podcast) it takes more energy to convert the water to hydrogen than the hydrogen produces. It is a net energy loss. I have not personally tested this, I do not have the lab necessary to do such experiments. Nor have I personally tested biokinesiology, homeopathy, ESP, or whether E really does equal MC squared. I rely on the consensus of those that have tested these things scientifically, or else I wouldn't be able to believe virtually anything.

I chose the name Galileo because he was forced to recant what he knew to be true, as I was, not because I consider myself to be a scientist, and certainly not one of his caliber. Although I doubt if Galileo were alive today, that he would believe that you could get around the Second Law either.

    Have you personally tested this?

Would this be an example of one?

As a matter a fact, I tested three on a VW I owned. The tornado air cleaner adapter, the capacitor on the ignition wires, and various fuel additives. The capacitor toasted my bosche coil. The others made no changes to mileage or power.

What did make a difference in power and mileage are devices known to work as they are in place today. I converted the points ignition to an electronic ignition. I removed the v belt system and replaced it with a serpanteen belt system with aluminum pulleys.

Thank you for taking the time to respond...please tell me how James_Woods response was more valid than your affirmation of his comment?

Have you read through this thread?

You haven't, so cut the bs. I often drink and post idiocy. This topic interests me, so I have taken the time to read what has been offered here. You and I both know you haven't.

Drink or just you spouting bs?

No matter. Reread, and then try to comment on the op's topic.

We have at least something here that can be discussed within the context of the op's topic.

Fuel additives. What additives have you used, have you tried H H O?

Your welcome. And no, I won't explain his comments to you. If you don't understand what he posted, and I restated in my last reponse, I'm not going to explain it to you. You clearly don't want to hear an explanation, you want to hear that this is true.

That first sentence explains alot. You say you and I both know that I haven't investigated this. I can't fathom how you could make such a statement when I pointed to where I got my information in my very last post. This topic interests me as well, I had a friend that was asking about this a few weeks ago, which is why I investigated the claims. Try it if you wish. I'm done wasting time with a clearly unreasonabe insult spewing drunk.

    I'm not familiar with H H O.

I sold this vehicle 10 years ago so honestly, I don't remember the brand names of the many octane booster/lead replacements I tried. And I tried many. I was able to track down high octane leaded gas at a VP dealer. Gas was under two dollars but the racing fuel was close to 6. 105 octane with two grams of lead per gallon. Just what my high compression VW needed.

This explains alot. Once I read this, I wasn't going to respond. I decided to anyways. So drink up sport and post away
