Yeah, right. "All they have to do is walk away...go and live a different life". I am here to tell you how it is no where near that easy. I left the church at 34 (my parents converted when I was 2). I had no friends outside of the church, weren't allowed to. I got divorced, my ex left too for a while, we have two children. Over the past 10 years my ex went back, took the girls with him (now 17 and 15). My parents call me once a year to see if I am okay, I have not talked to my only brother his wife or seen his kids in almost 2 years, and that was only when my father had open heart surgery, before that it was 3 years. My oldest daughter will be 18 soon, is a baptized witness and will not come to my house for dinner once she is 18, my fifteen year old will do the same when she is 18. As I stated, no friends out side the church and now 10 years later very few friends. It is difficult to leave a life you have know your entire life and just "go and live a different" one. Suicide was a consideration about 5 years ago. However I have since found a religion I am affiliated with and have a better relationship with God now than I did in all my years as a witness. So, when I am down thinking about what is coming up for me and my girls I try to focus on God, he must have a plan. But please, don't ever think that leaving that organization is easy cause it is not.

Then the even further unforgiveable offense is the witnesses will minimize the death of the suicide victim and maximize the importance of rebuilding the damned kingdom hall ! That is even more twisted than he explosion and suicide itself ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
Flipper--
Some of the male JWs from my folks' cong. were already on the phone with each other about it (rebuilding) late Saturday night/Sunday morning.
That has been sickening to listen to. A man was so distraught that he thought he had no other choice but to take his own life, but the majority of their conversations were dealing with rebuilding.
There isn't a strong enough word to describe the disgust I feel with them right now.

The key driving date is they do not want to miss the dedication date which is already set with invited speaker etc. I have my invite as I was involved with the build

Well JWs see suicide as a sin and not much more...I'm sure they will make certain the family knows that, too.
This is incredibly sad and my heart goes out to his family. :( -

It's a very common happening in buildings where someone died.
If not physically, have people not died spiritually in all Kingdom Halls?
