Welcome to the forum.....I like your smurf alot.

I never heard the Smurf thing either, Hortensia. But I do remember the "demon-possessed" Sprite/Star Brite doll stories in the 80's. Obviously I couldn't have one. I also remember the warnings about yard sale/thrift store items possibly being "demonic". So pretty much...you gotta be poor but you can't get your stuff used for fear of bringing demons into the home.

Well thats the point Hortensia. I moved to another city when I was a teen. No one at that hall 30 miles away heard of that either. So that was my first experience that you end up taking responsibility for some one else's error. Now today I have younger JW's telling me that the FDS never said not to go to college...Whooosh...

How about the cabbage patch doll fiasco?

Does any one remember the child who supposedly committed fornication with a prostitute and then woke up the next morning with "Welcome to the World of AIDS" scribbled on the mirror in lipstick. Geez, that kept me in good standing for awhile!

Welcome aboard, it's great to have you here.

I remember the cabage patch demonic possession thing... they had notes in their heads written either by demons, or by possessed people who worked in the cabbage patch factory. It was never very clear exactly who was writing the notes.... but we all knew the notes were there.....I was too scared to take my doll's head off in case there was something in there...so she was locked away as all possessed toys should be ...lol... oh how very sad

I could understand the Halloween restriction. But do you think had we as children really made a huge fuss about it, that these silly urband legends would never have taken affect? I mean really! My mom actually liked taking us to the toy store. I know she wanted us to have fun but I think she fell to peer pressure. The irony!
