  What the heck are "Rice Christians"???

  It’s a play on words
  ‘Rice Krispies’

  It alludes to the fact that many conversions done by the early church missionaries were simply on people who did it for what they could get.
  For example the churches had medical care, feeding and teaching programmes that helped the people to help themselves and so it was claimed that those baptized by those missionaries would only stay for as long as those facilities remained and were not truly heart converted christians.

  I do not agree with these sentiments.

  This is just an explanation.

  People, generally from poor countries, who become 'christian' so they can get food from the rich missionaries. It's similar to jesus' followers whom he supposedly fed on two ocassions. Jesus is the premier example making rice christians, yet the wt endlessly criticises it, because the don't want to do any social work.

  The hypocrisy and arrogance of the WTS views sickens me more and more. If you are a true Bible believer, is not God the one who does the converting? Aren't Christians just instructed to plant the seeds and cultivate, but ultimately God makes it grow? Isn't it a little arrogant for JWs to believe that THEY CAN DECIDE where the seeds are to be planted? Ugh. This makes me so sad.

  with mainland China. The Society noted how a huge number of "christians" disappeared after Mao took over. This, of course,
  was to show how soft Christendom was - and how futile feeding
  people , with charity, was.

  HA HA HA the real kicker here is that the WBTS actually thinks the bros and sis who report one hour have really put in one hour!

  Don't they get it? The only 'new pubs' they will get now are the ones who had a problem lying about one hour, but can handle lying about 15 min.

  What a got-dayum joke.

  BTW, my dad was at this meeting in Henrietta NY yesterday, I asked him, did you learn anything new? He said, "Oh yes!" [8>]
