I agree. While we certainly owe Ray a huge debt of gratitute, my gut instinct is that having a big fest in his honor would smack too much of 'creature worship' for him, and I don't think that's his style at all. Ray and his wife are inundated with cards and emails on a daily basis and given their age and their health concerns, I would be surprised if they attended a fest.
