    Was *summer* taught incorrectly?

Yes, perhaps *summer* was taught incorrectly. Or perhaps she did not pay enough attention in boring religion classes with the nuns. Or perhaps she just did not care.

The bottom line is...I have no idea what happens to an atheist who does not repent...just as I have no idea as to what happens to an atheist who does repent. And to make matters even worse, each religion and cult has their own take on it.

We can all speculate until we die...then we will know~

    BTS:

This is a very telling thread. Why is it so hard for christians to say what they know they teach, "Oh but there are so many types of christians, it's those others you are talking about" What a load of BS!

What are you smoking? Several here said exactly what they believe and what they believe is in accordance with mainstream Christianity and not the fringes. I even provided documentation of the largest Christian denomination. What is really telling is that these get ignored because you are waiting for the "Y'all fags gonna burn in Haaaaaillllll!". Which is what you want to hear because it will confirm your bigoted, prejudiced stereotype of what a Christian believes. You want to define the entire religion by a "fundamentalist" fringe. You actually believe the "Landover Baptist" caricature and think it applies to an entire religious tradition of 2 billion human beings.
As has been pointed out you are exactly like the JW's. Deep inside you know how it sounds so you just can't say it although it is the main thing your belief system revolved around. Hypocrites!
I am nothing like a JW. Your blind accusation is what is JW-like. You seem to need us that have left JWism and embraced a different spiritual path labeled "Christian" to seem exactly like what you left because you do not want to consider any other possibilty. You come across prejudiced and hateful and narrowminded.

Seems to me you and others twist what is said in the bible to fit what you want it to be. Call me what you will, that's my opinion formed by my observations. Only junction-guy laid it on the line which is what this thread is all about. Actually being honest and laying it out as it is. You did lay it on the line in one post Burn but then then you attempted to soft peddle it. All the other posts tried to sugar coat it, counldn't lay it on the line and be done, but had to add other comments to twist it. Thanks Junction-Guy for being honest.

Does it matter what other people believe. If they are socially responsible it is their own business. Sometimes we want others to give up their faith because their having a faith makes them a target for the anger that a lot of ex-JWs carry around.

For many years, I used to get my Y- fronts in a twist over the inconsistency of what Christians believe. But recently I have been converted to the 'I don't give a damn, even if I am damned club.' Talking with Christians on this site, such as Burn the ships and little toe helped me to question my motive and realize that I was still angry.

I have reached the point where I no longer care what anyone believes, in any religion, as long as I can continue to see the world the way I want to.

We all need something to bring us a little comfort in life and if religion 'floats your boat' then why not.

You want to know what I believe Eh?

here goes. > I believe their is a Creator,Only because I see the beauty in the world, not what people made but Creator made.

Because I like to think the Bible is PARTLY true ,( men wrote a lot of it) I Like to believe my Creator is Jesus Christ, with His Father & The Holy Spirit was hanging around while they did it.
Because MY Creator (in the part of the Bible I choose to believe) says Love your neighbour as yourself, Love your enemies ,LOVE!LOVE! LOVE! is what I read in HIS advice I chose to TRY to listen & obey.
As to what I think about Hell! I think I had a taste of that when they kicked me out of the JW's ,I felt like I was cut off from GOD!!!!Terrible feeling ,so I dont think it is a fire, I think it is a place where God is not,
I believe that if I was ashamed to tell you what I think about my ONLY friend >Jesus ,he would be saddend & be ashamed of me.
I am lead to believe by many teachings that there is a Paradise that folks who go through the DOOR ( Jesus Christ ( IN MY OPINION) Will go to the Heavens of Heavens. I cant really believe he will let me enter ( because I do screw up alot) But as Deputy Dog spent a good couple of hours trying to show me I AM GOING THERE!!!! Hope he is right.... I believe Religion isnt interesting TO MY FRIEND,He is interested in HEARTS ! So when you kick the bucket -as you will. He is going to judge you by that >>your heart. .There you have it. I dont care what you think, dont try to tell me I have to change my idea I DONT listen to any discussion on what YOU KNOW~! None of us KNOW exactly .....O.K.????

    The original post asked:

"If I do not renounce my atheism, repent and start believing in and worshipping the christian god, what will happen to me?"

Then it went on to specify:

I do not want your judgement or your opinion I want to know what your church/faith teaches on the subject or the fate of unbelievers.

I did exactly that. There is no "twisting" in any of my comments." I challenge you to demonstrate it. I was thoroughly honest in my comments. The dishonesty was in the ulterior motive of the OP. You want a caricature of Christian theology to attack, not the thing itself. This is no different than what the JW's do in their propaganda. BTS
