Two years ago my brother committed suicide.
People from this board were very helpful and supportive.
Suicide of a loved on is a difficult death to deal with.
My heart goes out to all who have lost a loved one to suicide

5 1/2 years ago a man I called my step-dad killed himself. He was the father figure I never had. I knew it was coming, and I did everything I could to stop it. And I failed. Helluva thing living with it.
My wife started a thread a year after his death. It was called Light a Candle to Remember.

My brothers dad, My step dad, Danny is my half brother, committed suicide too, about fifteen years ago.
He was my father figure. It was devastating. I had been recently divorced, my four sons were close to my step dad, their grandpa. We went to grief counselling. His suicide tore our family apart.
Danny's suicide brought us closer together.
