Now i know these numbers are based on secular history but you know how the society is.

Take a minute to read and understand my post - biblical chronolgy does not exist in a vacuum - the Bible provides a timeline that must somehow be 'pinned' on a secular calendar.

Thx didgeridoo. for all that information because even tho i am inactive i have always thought it was still the truth.

what set me off was watching there own Dvd and all the propoganda. Pursue goals that hor God. it was horrible!

Ive always thought things were strange but just accepted them at face value.

Mr majestic thx for the funny comment ive read some of scolars nonsense and he never has anything substantial to say. His comments are all hate felt just like a good JW is good at hate everyone who disagrees and call them an apostate. Puts everything in a nice bundle and easy to remember!

Just to add my wife says im not supposed to have alot of questions now that i'm baptized i haven't even gotten thru one with the elders because they head right for the apostate rutine.

digderidoo Paul already hit it pretty good, I'll just add a bit of my own research...

In my research, I've found that Jerusalem was destroyed in 587/6 by the Babylonians. That is an undisputed fact documented by historians. However, according to celebrated WT scholars, Jerusalem was destroyed 20 years earlier in 607BCE... invisibly. Obviously, there would be no documents or records needed to confirm the invisible destruction in 607. Later, Jerusalem was literally destroyed by Babylon, which is of interest to secular historians, but of no value to JWs. As noted by Digderidoo, the Jews likely returned in 537, 70 years after the invisible destruction in 607, but again there are no secular records of the timing of their return. So, the celebrated JW scholars have again concluded that regardless of whether the Jews literally returned earlier in 538 or later in 536, no matter. The Jews returned invisibly in 537.

Of course, secular scholars are satisfied with 587/6 as the time of destruction, because it's logical and well documented. They have no agenda to try and force some faked up history to fit their false beliefs. The celebrated JW scholars, however, have a very clear agenda... at all costs, support 1914 as the start of Christ's invisible presence. If history has to be doctored to fit 607 to 1914, they are prepared to rewrite world history.

So, while stubborn secular scholars look to facts, celebrated JW scholars are happified to prove that Jerusalem was destroyed invisibly in 607, the Jews returned invisibly in 537, and Jesus' invisible presence began in 1914.

Billy the Ex-Bethelite/ celebrated Scholar i totally agree and thats why i started questiong it they have an agenda to prove the 607bce date to support there 1914.

I remember Jesus saying my yoke is light and i see the socities yoke as heavy as possible can be.

No other religion has more control over it's people on earth and thats not a compliment!

They have the same policy as the military (don't ask don't tell) as long as you stick to that all is well

Of course in CT Rustles day, 1914 was when the Bible Students were getting raptured. Didn't happen. I've been reading his Studies with all the super-math dates to prove everything. Interesting, but totally worthless and wrong on chronology. JWs rewrote history about 1914 and what happened. It was clung to along with "this generation" as proof that the end is closer than the inside of your pants. Didn't happen. Although they still use "the world changed in 1914", that's very easy to disprove by using any number of other years with better reasoning. They're out of ideas. They're still stuck in the 90s with the end of the 80 year generation from 1914.

I'm sure they'd love to ditch 1914 for something they'd consider new and better to re-excite the dubs and bring in newbies and money. But such a big change to their message would be like trying to rename New York City to something like Bonerville. There's not enough spin on earth to pull off such a change even for the blindly following dubs.

If a person doesn't have questions, they will never learn... anything... ever. Are you not supposed to "make the truth your own"? Why would you just buy their story and not examine the truth. The Bible hasn't changed... but the Botchtower has. As in Acts 17, you ought to prove yourself noble-minded in examining the scriptures as to whether these things are so. They don't expect you to idolize some writers in Brooklyn and believe everything they print without making a careful examination?

They would ditch 1914 in a heartbeat but still have to wait for the old members to drop dead.

It's the same routine over and over keep them worried the end is coming and if you don't serve us Jehovah wil destroy you because were his people.

I rememeber when i fisrt started studying they were all over that Generation Schtick!

Everyone know's it to be a fact that all the medias whatever it may be in is used to control the way you think. I always thought Jehovah's organization was above that but found out they are on the forefront!

My wife is nuts i have known that for years and new that was a mistake after the first year!

She questions nothing they do and for the last 10 years she reall has never prepared for a meeting.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Says Keep testing whether you are in the faith. To me it is telling me to test to whether im being taught Gods word. Now i brought that scripture up to the rother and you know what his reaction was is that's not what it means.

Tell me what is your opinion on 2 corinthians 13:5 what does it mean?
