How Do YOU Help JWs Get Out Of The Religion?

    Hey Mini,

Since I'm relearning everything but still consider myself a Christian (one with doubts), when talking with friends I highlight the important (but neglected) role of Jesus in a JW's life, i.e., what the NT allows regarding a personal relationship with Christ. I keep in mind Ray Franz's words on the fictional FDS class. The JWs I know are miserable for all the obvious reasons. Staying close to Jehovah somehow doesn't cut it.

While I'm no longer absolutely certain about Bible authenticity, I speak to my friends as a "JW," but try to help them see what the Bible actually says. In other cases, where the JWs know a lot of the dirt already but believe Jehovah's doing a sifting work, I go for the jugular (nicely, however!).

It may not be perfect, but it's a start.

To me, the best way to help JWs is to simply be honest. Sticking with facts is the best way to expose the Witnesses. Read their literature and that will give you enogh ammunition.

True. Brainwashed or mind controlled persons cannot see reality.

Now, talking to a witness while in full-blown cult mode is an exercise in futility. They can spout a dozen reasons why they alone have the "truth". Logic and reason doesn't make much a dent on that rhetoric.

    Yep. Futile.

I think you can make a dent. You have to word your questions in such a way that it makes the person choose either between their rhetoric and what they have been taught as a witness vs. a principle which they have read in the bible. Of course just my method, I'm expirimenting with trying to boil down every single teaching to the JW admitting the reason they believe is really just faith in the interpretation. I think it will be difficult to nail down a tride and true line of questioning but I think it can completely be done.

I agree with Loubelle. They have to have their own doubts and or questions. If not they will shut you out and never listen to an apostate word you say....regardless of how true it is and how evil the tower is.

I plant seeds all the time. The trick is to talk to the natural man, not the robot.

Going over the same old debates (trinity, doctrine) is useless when the cult personality has fully sublimated the natural man. This is the futile part I'm talking about.

I would think that it's very difficult for a couple to be married and not both be JWs. After a while, you just do your own thing and one believes that unless you change, you're gonna die. Sad.

Hah, Minimus. You gotta meet my hubby. He's a clown. We have the most ridiculous conversations. Lately I've been tormenting him with descriptions of how our new home in paradise earth will be. We'll have a banana tree of course, and a little white dog. I told him I'd let him stay as long as he kept his watchtowers at the door. He can read them outside. It's not like they would be damaged by bad weather or anything.
