I want to hear from you three years from now to see how you've kept it off. Hopefully, you can keep it off. One thing that happens to many people who lose weight: your body will go into panic and make you feel very hungry until it forces you to eat enough to regain the weight. That is when it will be the biggest challenge to keep the weight from slowly coming back. Bodies think they are starving when you restrict calories significantly. They don't know you are trying to reduce your size. This is when your metabolism will slow and you will be hungrier than you ever were before you started dieting. It would be nice if people never dieted. Dieting can wreck a person's metabolism and start them in a yo yo that ends up in larger weight gains after each diet. People should be encouraged to eat healthy foods and get daily exercise when they are young. They should never be told to diet to reduce weight. The Diet industry in America makes billions from diets. They help to keep America's waistlines expanding. Yes, there are other reasons people gain weight and cannot lose it. I was once quite simplistic and judgmental in these matters. That is until I had several abdominal surgeries and had to take steroids and other medications that caused significant problems with my metabolism. I was also diagnosed with polycystic ovary disease, but only after it had caused a lot of weight issues. Last year all I did was grieve and I lost 40 lbs without trying. Weight is not as simple as what you put in your mouth. It does matter what you put in your mouth and what you do as far as exercise, but it's not a cure all.
