  I understand Why you need a break, why it's time to go.

  If you were to give any weight to what we are thinking....

  The good this place does far outweighs the moronic asses who get off on posting porn and slimey crap.

  I know how many exjw sites have come and gone in the last couple of years. When this place goes, I think many JW's will feel like it's a "sign" they are winning and those who are questioning and need the same support I needed may not have a place to go that will be as active as this place.

  One of the things I have absolutely loved about this place is it's constant activity. If you need something, someone is there.

  This is honestly like "Cheers". A place to go to be with people who 'get it'.

  BUT like I said, I understand why you and Angharad feel strongly it's time to go.

  Simon your hard work and dedication in keeping this site up and running is greatly appreciated by all of us. Please reconsider your decision to close JWD. With the recent events taking place in Watchtower land there are many new wavering JWs who are viewing the information on JWD for the first time. For them and for the many longtime posters who like to direct their JW friends and relatives to the truth about "the truth," please keep JWD up and running.

  I was off line this week...thank god...got a scary call from changeling telling me JWD was closing and nearly ran off I-40 at 85 mph!! So lives are at stake here Simon!! If you need help running it...ask for help...but dont close it down...please. You have helped keep me alive for the past two years....barely. I love you guys!!!!.......oompa

  This site saves lives, physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and socially.

  I really don't think there are any words for the amount of importance this site has in the EX-JW world. Yea there are other forums but JWD is the gold standard. The wealth of research, collective knowledge, and community is beyond what can be explained by words.

  Please Please ..... the numbers leaving the WTS is growing, JWD is considered a safe resting place much like the underground railroad during slavery. I think we all can agree that this site has been the deciding factor for many.

  The ability to ask questions or relate fears and experiences via the forum is as valuable as the "best of" section.

  This certainly is a great site Simon which has helped many people to overcome exiting JW ville ! While some of us may be courageous enough to venture out to other sites to help ex-JW's move on - others here are somewhat more timid and really look to only your site for support. I understand that your family is in danger and threats have been made to you and yours. So I understand why you feel you need to close the site to protect your family. I would do the same thing if I were you. Is there a way you could sell the site to someone else ? Someone who is not in the firing line of whoever is threatening you ? Someone who does not have somebody picking a bone with them ? Just a thought
