Hey, Joelbear, as you’ve demonstrated many times before, you get what you prefer to get out of another person’s statements. As often as not, something totally different than what the person actually said. Listen carefully now Joelbear, and for your benefit I will say it again; I will walk you through it ... using tiny baby steps so that you can keep up. Here’s the charges that I replied to:
The society has throughout the years used subversive language in regards to the political powers. They have toned it down lately but it still exists. In this time of patriotic fervor it could be a hot topic for the courts. -- Tyydyy.
First off: I showed how absolutely absurd it was to insinuate that the WTS is guilty of trying to subvert the government. (Note that
Tyydyy, the author of that absurd statement, didn’t have the courage to contend with what I said. Nor has he shown himself willing to offer any proof to back up the other part of his statement, that the WTS has "toned it down lately".) The WTS has never
EVER attempted to “overthrow” any government. Neither has it
EVER been the purpose of the WTS to “undermine” any government. If anyone thinks that preaching what THE BIBLE SAYS -- regarding where the governments derive their power and authority from -- is an attempt by the WTS to “undermine” or “overthrow” the governments, then THAT “someone” is in bad need of a brand new brain. They need to be sent through at least another 12 years of education to see if they can be helped. Yes, including Elementary school and maybe even kindergarten.
Secondly: The author of that statement had implied that the WTS was actually afraid of public opinion and the courts of the land with regards to the way the WTS interprets the Bible as to the governments being subject to the Devil’s will. He asserted that he had detected where the WTS hadn’t “used subversive language” as usual, that “they have toned it down lately” … all because of “this time of patriotic fervor”, he said. To say something such as that implies that the WTS is AFRAID of the courts, and of public opinion. There could be nothing farther from the truth. THAT’S the reason, and the only reason, I said that neither I nor the WTS give a rats butt what certain people or the courts think of our Bible-based belief and message. That’s all that I said, not what YOU got out of it, Joelbear. I said that when it comes down to whether or not certain people like or dislike what we interpret the Bible to mean regarding the source of the wild beast’s authority, we could care less. It will not change our beliefs as to how we interpret the Bible on that score. And Tyydyy has no proof whatsoever to support what he said, that the WTS has "toned it down lately". That's a screwball thing for him to have said, and there's no doubt about it!
Now you, Joelbear, took my statement out of context and perverted it to your liking. Look at the proof. It’s here in your reply:
Watchtower legal is certainly interested in the courts in this country and around the world, even having a tract campaign to sway popular opinion in France regarding them and their tax exempt status. They care quite a bit, to the point that they are arguing against a law in a small Ohio town regarding even having to register in order to trespass uninvited onto others property over and over again without the homeowner's permission in the US Supreme Court. Yes, I think they care what the Supreme Court's ruling will be.
-- Joelbear.
"Tax exempt status"? "A small Ohio town"?
The board will note that Joelbear took my statement entirely out of context. He’s a nincompoop! Nuff said.
