For years the WTS has said that the UN is the scarlet colored wild beast. That would have to be a big change to call it the king of the north. In a talk around 2001, a WTS speaker speculated that the king of the north was Iraq.

I should have refrased my question do you think we are headed for a great War in the near future?
With the media being so biased nowadays or always however you want to look at it there is a war in the media. One side saying were the good guys the otherside saying we are good.
Do you think Eventually with all these lies they are selling us that are we headed for a War with China or Russia or both?
This is not just a biblical question but want to know what your thoughts are on this. Thx

Here's my 2 cents. It's the elite wonders of the world (money controllers) that are manipulating world events. These elite wonders represent the king of the north and south, how? they are the backers of self assuming governments, they support (financially) these kingdoms. It's all a DISTRACTION. The greatest trick in the world is, DECEPTION.

I think the king of the north is the US . The king of the north invades asia like the US has done and no other country has a big navy as is mentioned , "many ships". The WTBTS interpretation does in fact leave it so the roles can change at any time . I think it is an end time specific prophesy .

Prophecy is almost always intentionally vague if you view this as such, and not as something about a long dead Selucid Emperor as Leolia states.
The King of the North, and the King of the South can be any powers you want them to be. Two powers fighting for dominance, that's never happened before. 10,000 years from now maybe someone will be trying to apply this text to the struggle between two starfaring civilizations because one is spinward of Earth and the other is antispinward.
