Better yet.......I should lose 40 pounds. My six pack abs look like I did too many six packs of beer and I don't even drink. I'm a member of AA for 19 years. LOL

I can't afford one of the really nice guitars ... but I'll probably get something pretty nice. Maybe upto about $6-700 price range.

I'd actually like to get a piano as well (not a real one but something with weighted keys) - I never learnt that properly but would love to be able to play a few songs on it.

I'm trying to think where my finger picks went ... they must be in a box somewhere or else I'll have to buy a whole new set!! LOL

Tired of the Hypocrisy

I played a roundback acoustic a few times but couldn't afford it so when I was in High school back in the late 70s I got an Applause. The cheaper dressed down cousin of the Ovation. The roundbacks have a rich sound and will last you a long time. Beware of any older ones that have an aluminum neck. If it gets dropped it will warp and never play right again.

The newer ones I hear are not of the same caliber as the ones from the 70s, but play well and sound good too. I got another Applause AE128 last year on ebay for $100 and that included the TRL Hard case and an electronic tuner (Which I don't use because my ear is still good!) A good buy and it plays excellent...

I'll give you $200.00 US for those two nasty old dust collectors, the Jazzmaster and the Vibrolux . And I'll pay the shipping!! I'm sure you don't want those old things cluttering your house and dragging down your newer gear!

I wish I still had the 1961 Gibson ES-335 I had back in HS . . .

St Anne is right, a Taylor sounds great... but if I had the cheese, it'd be a Martin. One thing I've learned about Guitars, it's worth it to save up and buy a nice one.

Oh man, I'm screwed then ... We can't all be virtuosos, but we all have our own particular styles. Who knows, maybe your wailing is what people would want to hear. Playing music is a never ending story, so like Angharad said, .....go and buy a real one dear, play, it can only get better.
