Just an awesome question to ask!!! My take would be 1988. Here is my take on why....1975 had past and the WTBTS still was growing in industrialized nations. The "You Can Live Forever Book" had established itself. The released publications were the "Revelation Book" and "The Scriptures Inspired Book". You also still had the 1914 docrine still holding weight and no INTERNET! I would say many could give a year that would make sence when the "damn" broke. For me it would be in 1995. The 1914 doctrine was in the "toilet" and the District Conventions finally tanked. I went to the 1995 Convention and I knew that these Conventions were just a shell of Yesteryear. For me, it was the first Convention that did not include the "Food Program". It just seemed like a "ghost town" and JACK MURPHY STADIUM"!
What would you say the Golden Age of the Watchtower Society was?

Ditto. 60's were fun. 70-75 you had a mission (even if you didn't really believe it). 80's regrouping and tremendous growth.

I can think of two big eras of unbridled growth, 1920-1925 and the 1950s. There was steady growth in the '80s but not at the whopping rates experienced in the salad days of Rutherford and Knorr. (The organization also probably hasn't ever experienced decreases as collosal as those in 1926-1929)

They were at their peak under the micromanaging of Nathan Knorr.I grew up in that period. What the "Society" said was gospel.

In the area I am in, it was the mid 1980s. I was dragged into the cancer at the final part of that wave. After about 1990, it was all downhill. And it really fell apart after 1993.
