As a Biblestudent, I sometimes wonder how it is to be a clueless protestant.

Now lets see if Friday is going to to make that great leap.

You Know the one that I mean, the great leap that somehow connects the FDS to the 144,000.

    Or doesn't!

Yardif, the implication has always been that the other sheep cannot understand the NT without the anointed. To me that implies that unless I am anointed I will never have a complete understanding of the NT.
To me, it doesn't imply that at all. But you are right, the implication has been that without the anointed the other sheep can't understand. For me that has held true. Not to say that I haven't learned some things all by myself, but had it not been for the assistance offered through material having originated by the anointed my kite would've never flown as high. In other words, they laid the basis for what I know. Since then, and because of that, I have been able to personally build upon (learn on my own) the foundation that THEY laid. But had they not laid that foundation to begin with, then I would've had nothing much to build or expand on. So yes, certainly, without the anointed the other sheep can't make much progress in understanding the "NT".

    Yadirf,

If that's how you sincerely feel Yadirf, then I won't even try to disabuse you. But it you're referring tothe current crop of WT writers, I fail to see how signing God's name to a bunch of bad checks honors Him in any way or confers enlightenment to anyone.
I mean, when have they ever gotten anything right?

yadirF reminds me of the baptist preacher that frequents the street corner a few blocks from home. Crazy, fanatical, and completely irrational, but at least his heart is in the right place.

    FRIDAY and YOUKNOW\

The idea that the bible is written for a select few or "primarily" for a select few, is so much bullshit as to be unbelievable. NO PROOF EXISTS FOR THIS POINT OF VIEW. It's hard to accept that intelligent people can believe such nonsense.

Join the saints friend. Follow in the footsteps of Jesus, teach the truth, give up the world, run the race, you could become one?

For the rest of the world, it's good that the NT is primarily written to saints. Then they have hope too, including the billions in the graves.

Matt 7:13Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. 7:14For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.

Rev 20:4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 20:5The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection. 20:6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years

(NB the rest of the death had not been issued a resurrection of life but of judgment).

    God Bless

See if you find this reasoning somewhat absurd:

The great majority of first century Christens, many hundreds of thousands of them, including thousands upon thousands who were martyred for their faith, are to be considered second-class citizens of the Kingdom. Such ones don’t even have Christ as their mediator. These poor souls will never be members of the “144K-club”. And it gets worse as time goes on; somehow after almost 2000 years since he was on earth, and after literally millions were martyred in his name, only 144,000 lucky persons will ever join his exclusive 144K-club.

Fortunately for some who happen to have been born at just the right time when Christ returned, well sort of returned, not that every eye would see him like he said because he did it invisibly this time, although it was taught that he returned at an earlier date, but never mind that, and so what if these same persons were promulgating a bunch of false teachings at the time, and dabbling with the occult just a bit, promoting the sale of war bonds and prayers for victory during a war at one point, and mixed in with much of Babylon The Greats traditions, they still get to join the 144K-club because ‘they were at the right place expecting the wrong thing at the right time’.

So you want to be a member of the 144K-club do you? And oh how you wish you were born earlier so you could have been expecting the wrong thing at the right time. Well fear not, it’s not to late. Yes, you too just happen to be born at another of the right times. New members are still being added at this time so as to keep the number around 8,000 or so. And the really cool thing is that today, unlike earlier times when millions who were martyred could not even get in, you can just start eating the cookie and drink’n the wine and *bam* your in the 144K-club. No fuss no muss.

Folks, I am sorry to say that if you remove the sarcasm and the attempt at levity from the above, you have the basic belief that a loyal witness must conform to.

    Yardif, Rev Bill, etc;

Good to see the old biblical nonsense being tossed around again. Sucn an amazing book, able to fuel useless theology and mindless speculation for generation after generation for thousands of years.

And this quote: "NT is primarily but not only written to the saints. They will go to heaven, while the billions will be resurrected on earth. That's the biblical truth and satan hides that truth to make God look bad. God takes care of us all, ie. all that want him."

Sums things up rather nicely. Ah those "biblical truths" that satan hides. What a powerless god you guys worship!! You sure you want to be in heaven with such a useless spirit? He doesn't seem to be doing too well taking "care of us all." Doesn't do too well looking after himself, either.
