Great Pyramid is Jehovah's Witness. How so?

    I read it in wiki.

The best I can make out is that these are the reasons:

"patterned after the capstone of the Great Pyramid of Egypt, symbolic of the Christ"

and that Russell made (superstitious) predictions based on measurements in the pyramid.

"Russell had first published that the date 1874 was derived from a measurement of 3416 pyramid inches [105] which measurement was revised in the 1910 edition to 3,457 inches (87.8 m) to point to 1915."

Now, even some of the christian religions say there is some great mystery to reveal Plan of Ages and pyramid has something to do with that.

And I have seen this scripture used to say it is refering to the great pyramid.

Isaiah 19:19:In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt, and a monument to the LORD at its border. 20:It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt.

So, if the great pyramid is really some sort of "witness to god" or holds some sort of key to the Divine Plan...what is it? What makes it so?

How is the great pyramid a witness to god? (Or does russell's idea of it make sense to you?)

One should note that the "prophecy about Egypt" in Isaiah 19 is only one of a series starting in chapter 13 that foretells the destruction of other nations (Babylon, Tyre, Cush, etc.) In this case, the prophet foretells the time when the Egyptians will acknowledge Jehovah by using various symbolisms that emphasize the point. One does not have to take these literally. For example, Vss 23-25 speaks of "a highway from Egypt to Assyria" which illustrates how the Egyptians, Assyrians and Israel will all worship together. It doesn't mean we should expect a literal "highway."

Read the other chapters and note how many symbolisms are used. It will give you a greater understanding of how the prophets used symbolic illustrations to drive home a point.

Russells' pyramidology is another example of his plagiarising others ideas, this time a completely looney tune idea, how could an edifice like a pyramid (pagan) have anything to do with bible prophecy?

What is laughable is his calling on that old fraud Professor Piazzi-Smythe as an authority to back up his wild theory.Piazzi-Smythe styled himself as Astronomer Royal for Scotland, there never was such an office.

Even so Piazzi-Smythe in his letter ,which Russell includes in Studies in the Scriptures in full, is very circumspect, more or less saying "I find your theory interesting" rather than endorsing it.

Interesting to observe Russells use of a familiar technique, early on HE calls the great Pyramid "the Bible in Stone" then later he says many times ,often called "the Bible in Stone" as though other (unamed) authorities used this expression.

Of course we must remember this was Jehovah.s Spirit Directed Org or FDS which was coming up with this crock of sh**e !

But it captivated the people when he mentioned it and wrote about in his books

What a great salesman if not anything, but given the era at which he was marketing this isn't really all too surprising.

Perhaps the people who wrote those words in the bible were also bullshitting, they had bullshitting in those days too, something that has to be acknowledged.

Now if there were a great building in Egypt that had Watchtower on the face of it, that would be totally different.

Russell was a writer, a publisher, trained by William Miller end time fanatics, he was a full blown numerologist, a sort of pyramidologist, bad at picking wives, bad at picking friends, and worse at picking attorneys.

This is from the Proto-JW site biblestudents.com:

A Sign for the End Times

Many Christians today are looking for signs to confirm their faith—religious icons that bleed or cry, images of Jesus photographed in clouds, angels who appear bearing messages from God, etc. But the Bible itself cautioned about false signs and wonders which distract from the true prophetic signs that are promised. The signs which the Bible warned against were only those which are not confirmed by Scripture. Matt. 12:39; 24:26; 2Thess. 2:9-10

One remarkable prophetic sign that is confirmed by Scripture is found in our Isaiah 19 theme text pointing to the Great Pyramid in Egypt. It is one of the most dramatic signs given in Scripture, yet it is overlooked by most students of the Bible because of preconceived ideas as to the Pyramid’s purpose, origin and meaning. It has been shrouded in mystery as a “cultish” object with claims of supernatural powers. In addition, Satan has done a masterful job of destroying this beautiful Bible prophecy and many other Bible truths by associating them with evil. The goal of this report is to re-establish the Great Pyramid of Gizeh as a beautiful “sign” and “witness” provided in the word of God for the upbuilding of faith “in that day”—the end times.

Russell simply wanted to take advanage of the keen public interest at the time in The Great Pyramid.

His method of doing so was not honest, but he knew that most people would not look closely at where he obtained the Great Pyramid "measurements" that he used for his "prophetic" calculation.

He knew his method would not hold up under examination, hence he sought to gain credibility by publishing the letter from PIazzi Smythe.

It is very interesting to note that even after Russell changed the measurement numbers in later editions of the book, he still retained Smythe's letter of endorsement, which would only be valid for the original numbers, so any implied endorsement by Smythe that might have existed certainly was invalidated when the numbers were changed. Smythe, having died several years before the revised edition of Russell's book was published, never had a chance to see, let alone endorse, the new numbers.

And of course, no indication at all was made that the newer editions contained measurement numbers different from earlier editions.

Now ask yourself, is this something an honest person would do?

Charles Taze Russell was a con man who simply wanted to promote the selling of his books.

The Watchtower, years after "Thy Kingdom Come" was published, admitted that the Great Pyramid numbers they used were "paper measurments" obtained from a cross-sectional drawing of The Great Pyamid that appeared in Piazzi Smythe's book.

It was simply incompetent of Russell to assume that measurements accurate to under an inch could be obtained from such a drawing.

Or, what is worse, Russell knew that the numbers obtained were inaccurate, but went ahead anyway knowing most people wouldn't know there was a problem!

There are lots of different pyramids. There are pyramid forms on probably every continent.

What makes Giza "the special one" on which to base any biblical fulfillments or prophesies?
