Omg....I never heard about any food restrictions other than products containing blood. If shellfish has got to go...then lead away the blubbery pig as well. That cloven hoof thing.

Planning on a nice dinner tonight of ceviche (fresh fish, preferably corvina, "cooked" in lime juice for 10 minutes or so) this evening. The Ecuadorian type adds some ketchup which to me spoils some of the flavor. I prefer the Peruvian style, just the fish, lime juice, rocoto pepper sauce and some cilantro.
