I would think a call from the local elders shortly to meet with you...

I requested them not to contact me. I gave them reasons why I no longer wanted to be a part of the organization.

They probably won't give the elders much info about the letter. In my case the elders were asking me what was in my letter- I just told them that if Brooklyn didn't want them to read my letter, then I wasn't sharing it with them either, AND I wasn't ever going to meet with them about anything. They made their decision without any knowledge about what I had told Brooklyn.

Hi candy - I dont know anything about you - if you have been fading etc but the result will be the same as if you had been disfellowshipped. Expect to be shunned by all JW's, even family may shun you if they are are JW's and comply with the orders from the GB. My family have cut me off entirely and I haven't even officially disassociated! All I did was stop going to the KH and tell my son things I know about the WT.Hopefully it wont be the same for you.
I send you BIG HUGS

Thankfully, none of my family JW's. However I do have very close friends who I expect to no longer talk to me anymore. I havent been to a meeting since the memorial. I want to be free....free from the cling of the organization even if that means losing my friends. I want to serve God in a deserving way not just doing..doing...doing. I went as far as requesting to be disfellowshipped.

Welcome to the board, Candy!

Those friends are going to discard you in a heartbeat. That means that they were never really friends.

Depends on what is in your letter. I basically told the BOE to go bite it, so they never called me.

Good on you, Moshe. This strategy has some interesting points: the left hand not telling the right hand what is going on. Moshe emphasized that and reinforced it. Then NEVER meet with or tell 2 "blackbirds" anything. For that matter, don't tell one of them anything. ("blackbirds" is how I refer to a "shepherding call": 2 eLDERs in black suits, ready to pick you to pieces, with a handy witness.) This is how I would do it if I went that route. You could actually then put out a "public" notice that all was done in absentia, with no complete information. This would prove to onlookers that there is no truth or justice within a KH. Mustang
