In the United States, prostitution is legal in Nevada.

So, what exactly is the question? Should it be legal in all 50 States?

It would appear that it's up to each State to decide. Good enough for me.

    yknot,

All great points. I would add that the slippery slope that is already occurring is that after (or in some cases along with) legalizing/decriminalizing prostitution in some countries, the next step is for the government to state: No unemployment for you, you can get a job at a prostitute. As if it's just "another job." Sick.

BA- Yes, it really is happening.

Much like abortion, it's an area where society, should American society someday choose to be grownups, could see to it that prostitution is safe, legal, and rare.

I'm giving up hope for America to grow up in my lifetime.

making easy money by doing something enjoyable robs, perhaps very slowly, and so without realization, the prostitute of their character and "soul", their dignity, their right to be loved for who they are rather than what they will do for money.

Just like smoking ,government has not yet band smoking but many steps have been taken steps to

protect society from it's ill effects. On the point about prositution being "easy money ".. I once used that

term and a lady jumped on that point telling me heatedly in no uncetain terms that prostituion not" easy money"

the toll in health, emotionally , relationship wise is very high !

    Thats it for the US.

Remember even in Nevada it is heavily regulated as to where one can be a prostitute...Las Vegas doesn't allow prostitution.

Las Vegas whores are not regularly tested for STDs.....only when they are arrested.

If I remember correctly you will have to drive about 60 miles outside of Vegas to find a whorehouse.

    Other countries.... http://www.sexwork.com/coalition/whatcountrieslegal.html

Ultimately ....... it is easier & cheaper to hang around a bar at closing time.....

    or better yet....get a freakin' girlfriend !!!!

Are you assuming there are no male prostitutes? About the comment that no one would have sex strictly for money with no coercion, hell I'd do it.

    Alrighty then!

    His name is Ben Dover.

He will let you know what he wants (though it might be obvious given his name) when he gets to your address.

    He'll pay handsomely, of course.

    BA- Enjoy!

Prostitution is already legal, there are many Legal brothels where the girls pay Tax’s for their income, its street prostitution that’s illegal, and when the Government find a way of controlling it, and charges Tax’s then they make that legal also.
