Thanks skally, for posting this. On the one side is the wt/bible-ot advocating parental violence. On the other, the 'world' is depicted as gentle on kids. It is becoming more clear which is the better method. Reading this brings back a lot of sadness.

One thing the Tallymeister seems to forget is that the JWs are doing what the BIBLE says to do. So if you're pissed, get pissed at Jehovah himself.

Actually, the OT/Bible does not advocate parental violence .... exactly the opposite as a word study of these terms would reveal

Are you really so blind? I think the fact that that info appears at all is disturbing. OK, so they might have printed "good" articles relating to children, but they should have NO "bad" articles at all, be it from 120 years ago or 1 year ago. Get a life.

I saw a quote within the last 3 weeks or so from, i think it was a 99wt that said beating kids would expunge the badness in them. Unfortunately, i didn't save it. Will try to find it.
My parents who abused me verbally and physically would have read some of what sf point to.You must realise that even these old wt admonitions are still being acted on today, no? The older elders still have all that training in their heads. The wt has never recinded them.
