They didn't mention jewelry.
Are they not taking jewelry anymore?
Here's the scan.....Maybe they don't ask for jewellry anymore because their Fence couldn't get them a good price.
Don't these greedy money grabbing WT higher ups know their own rank and file members are getting bled dry by the awful economy ?
Two thoughts in response:
#1: Whether they know or don't, they backed the wrong horse and the wrong method to be cost effective: instead of encouraging people to become more and thereby become prosperous and able to give more; instead, they encourage people to be less, tie up their time in costly pursuit but still give more than they can afford.
WTS MONEY GRUBBERS BACKED THE WRONG HORSE
should be a headline.
#2: Let's use an analogy. If you were an alcoholic and your doctor told you to quit drinking, would you instead inject alcohol straight into your veins, simply because that would not be "drinking"?
Of course not. Likewise, your "mother", WTS, is hemorrhaging (bleeding to death) money-wise. Let's use theocraptik counsel: NO BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS!!!
Therefore, we see, using the Watchtower, that giving a 'monetary' blood transfusion to Brooklyn would not be the proper theocratic thing to do!!!
Mustang
Didn't The Watchtower say that they never solicited for money?
This article appears to prove that any such statement as that to be wrong!
Anyone know where we can find Russel's comments about not having Jah's spirit if they have to beg for contributions? Would be nice to have.
TUESDAY- Yeah I bet you have some stocks and bonds you could sell the society right now ! LOL! It would serve them right to get punked financially.
CAMEO- D- Yes they did mention jewelry in the article - they are still accepting that ! How personal can you get ?
MARY- Thanks for posting the link to the rest of the article.
MUSTANG- Good points you make . They do tie up all these witnesses time and money and resources. Even when they can't afford it . The society is hurting financially and they will do anything to hang onto what they have.
VM 44 - very true. The Watchtower society is begging for money . Even from wills and retirement
WATSON - It would be nice to have that article by Russell to see exactly what he said about begging for contrbutions ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
In the booklet they recommend getting, it talks about how to put your money into an account with a non-profit entity and save on taxes on your investment. Something that is considered a win-win situation.
*** w07 11/1 p. 21 "The Silver Is Mine, and the Gold Is Mine" ***To assist individuals desiring to benefit the worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses through some form of charitable planning, a brochure has been prepared in English and Spanish entitled CharitablePlanningtoBenefitKingdomServiceWorldwide. The brochure was written to provide information on a variety of ways that gifts may be made either now or through a bequest at death. After reading the brochure and conferring with their own legal or tax advisers, many have been able to help support the religious and humanitarian activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide and maximize their tax benefits while doing so. This brochure may be obtained by requesting a copy directly from the Charitable Planning Office.
For sure they are Mr. Flipper...THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF MONEY and this is just GREAT......
They pull that crap every year. As long as I can remember, there has been a Kingdumb Misery article about these novel ways to donate to the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund every year. They see people getting their bonuses, and they want to take the whole thing for themselves. Plus, they want to remind people that, when they die, they owe the whole estate to the Washtowel Babble and Crap Slaveholdery Corporation.
August 1879 in the second issue of The Watchtower (then called Zion's Watch Tower), it said:
"'Zion's Watch Tower' has, we believe, JEHOVAH for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support. When He who says: 'All the gold and silver of the mountains are mine,' fails to provide necessary funds, we will understand it to be time to suspend the publication."
