The ones we had dinner with are in no trouble that I'm aware of. They still attend meetings but they are sporadic in attendance and are not the strongest of their beliefs. They hold no positions.

The ones we met at the restaurant do hold positions. That may be the key.

    They are an apalling bunch.

You could have used some words that really freaked them out, like "love" or "Jesus."

They ripped out portions of Jesus' beard........when they were crucifying Him. Pharisees always hate beards. Like most everything with the doctrine of an Antichrist system, you can't find scriptural basis for it.

I recently had lunch with a JW. It was an odd situation. I was friends with her when I was a teenager and into my early 20's. I'm now hmmmm almost 40. It had been since we were both in our early twenties since I had seen her. My sister gave her my email address and she asked me to go to lunch. She's thinking of leaving the religion is what she told me at lunch. Funny thing happened though when we met at the restaurant. Someone who is married to a JW was there and recognized her and said hi and all of that. The thing that bothered me was she was all worried then that it would get back to the others that she had lunch with me. Then she kept looking around being all paranoid that someone would see her having lunch with me and she would get in trouble. I'm DF'd so that's why she was fraking out. I won't be getting together with her again. That was so weird. I just thought it was strange that a 40 year old woman would be acting so paranoid and scared by a religion like that. Since I was in my early 20's I have not been afraid to give my opinion and just be who I am.

So what is this site? Is it an apostate message board?

Welcome aboard, yes ones cant be who they really are and be a jdub unless of course you buy their hype lock stock and barrel so to speak. I have had the same treatment, not Df's nor DA'd but they are afraid none the less. I told one once, hey if you are so scared of being seen with me don't you realize it's not God you are scared of but men!!!!
