Aren't we as a group smart enough to bring the whole thing down?"

I realize that I was stuck believing in JW almost all my life. And that each person has to see the light for themselves.

But it was partly the hypocrisy, partly the Internet, partly my brother, ex-JW, and partly thinking on my own that did it.

There are smart enough people on the board, is there anything we can do to bring the whole JW thing down?

There must me some way, some thing, we can do. If there really is only 12 men in Brooklyn, and a few in the Writing Department, and they make so many mistakes and glaring errors, shouldn't we be able to figure out a way to bring it all down?

Wishful thinking/fantasy. Get out one member at a time, I say. I've been doing it for years. If enough people do it too, then the Watchtower Bankroll goes down. When that goes down far enough, reform is possible. It is ALL about MONEY in WatchtowerWorld(tm). Only MONEY makes them change.

It sounds crass, but it is a fact.

I am thinking my calculus class would be able to figure out the break point for this... number of those baptized vs the reported peaks... seems like the WT keeps taking one step forward and two back...at some point I would think the parabola would reach a maximum and then it goes downhill very rapidly from there. The key is knowing when and at what number that peak is before it races back downhill to a fiery end. I am thinking that if you plug in certain published stats in to a TI-84 calculator LIST function, let it spit out an equation...graph it...get the answer.... would be interesting...

(just so you know, I am barely getting a C in that business calc class..so dont expect me to actually figure it out.)

Seriously... I come to JWD and JWS for the comraderie more than my desire to bring down a Publishing Corporation. My JW mom is the only I truly care if she gets out, and she believes the Organization has Jehovah's approval because, in her words, "Jehovah has always had an organization on earth" (self-serving, self-perpetuating cultic lie that that is). Mom is retired now, this is all she has known her adult life... neither her nonJW husband (my stepdad), nor her nonJW brother, nor I, are going to try to talk her out of it. Pulling that rug out from under her leaves her pretty socially isolated, especially since she and her husband just moved to a new town/new state this year.

If it werent for my mom, I would walk into a KH, or better write a letter to the editor of the local paper, tell them all what I really thought, and walk out.

I would say, no. As people individually are smart, but groups are argumentative and power trips. Plus, not everyone is willing to take that much time out of their life, risk that much and realize that track history is that you will be wasting your time in the end.
