  Is this true?

  The Watchtower of February 1, 1978 said on page 18 about Jesus that:

  ... he was the chief son of Jehovah, next to him in the universe.

  To me this implies that WT teaches in opposition to scripture that Jesus is the only begotton son....

  "the chief son" seems to imply there are others, but he is 'a' favorite. Have they ever disclosed who the 'other sons' are? DO they consider that the "other sons" are the fallen angels?

  Does WT view that Jesus was "just" one of the obedient angels? Is this why they refer to him as Micheal Archangel?

  How do JWs not see this as a conflict of scripture John 3:16 and 18?

  The bible calls the angels 'sons of God' and it is in this context that the WT speaks.

  Ynot, I would have suspected it meant "sons of god" the fallen angels, even though I don't agree with that. But this below...I certainly did not expect.

  Does WT really teach that Jesus and Lucifer (satan) are brothers??? Is this "brothers" in a "congregational way" or in an actual "sibling way"?

  The Holy Scriptures show that the term "morning stars" refers to two mighty creatures of heaven, namely, Michael (the Logos) and Lucifer.... These two mighty creatures were brothers; both sons of God.

  Notice they say Micheal here and not Jesus. So where do they show Micheal=Jesus?

  I have always understood the WT to have taught that Jesus and Satan are actual brothers.
  
  At least, that's what my understanding was when I was "in".

  This is a big surprise to me.

  I am really shocked.

  I was just reading Nov. WT and there is a line about "god's only begotton son." So how can they say this and yet teach that satan and jesus are brothers?

  The WT teaches that Lucifer was indeed created by th Logos..... in fact interestingly enough if you scroll down the to the May 15, 1932 section on page 155 you will find an article entitled "Creation of Lucifer and Man". Second paragraph, first & second sentences say....

  The Logos, the active agent of Jehovah God in the creation of all things, of course, created Lucifer; for the Apostle John so states, saying: “In the beginning was the Word [The Logos], and the Word [The Logos] was with God, and the Word [The Logos] was [a] god. [According to the Greek text] The same was in the beginning with God. All things v;ere made by him [The Logos] ; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ” (John 1: 1-3)

  The archangel Michael is supposed to be the only thing Jehovah created "with his own hands," so to speak.

  The Logos, the active agent of Jehovah God ...created Lucifer;

  So if the Logos created Lucifer, then the Logos would have had to create Jesus, too...if they are brothers.

  So what function and purpose does jehovah have if Logos does all the work?

  I think xtians associate "the word" as being a pre-human representation of jesus.

  Does WT teach that the Logos is another name for HS, since they say Logos is "the active agent of Jehovah"?

  Of course, you realize that the WTS definition of "only-begotten" means that Jesus is the only one directly created by God and all others werre created with Jesus' assistance. That is how there can be more sons of God. The Bible even calls Adam a son of God before his "fall."
