I'd like to know how they did that first one. There's no obvious transition between the RC plane and the real plane. I think that it's the RC plane the whole way and somehow they digitally superimposed the guy getting out of the cockpit at the end. Good work though!

"What puts you is a position to claim that it is real?"

What puts you in a position to claim it's not? You think it's not real for the same reason that so many people believe that Oswald couldn't have been the only shooter of Kennedy.

In your defense, when the pilot of an Israeli F-15 that had it's wing torn off landed against all odds, and saw that his wing was off, he stated that had he known his wing was gone, he would have ejected, because he didn't think it possible to do what he did. And experts who saw the F-15 after it was on the ground assumed the damage had somehow happened on the ground.

This however, is different, because the pilot obviously knew what had happened, and was so intimate with flying and controlling his (very light acrobatic) plane and (extremely powerful) motor, that he found a tiny bit of control and used it to stay alive.

Or it's fake. But I don't think so. And on another forum, I just saw it reposted as "Check out this unbelievable landing!" by an ex-fighter pilot, who also thinks it's real.

from a forum talking about the video...

I call it a fake viral ad. :-)
The plane is advertising the Killa Thrill clothing company. Doing a bit of googling brings you to http://www.jamesandersson.com/ , in which the "pilot" claims to be an acrobatic flyer sponsored by Killathrill.

Do a whois search on jamesanderson.com ( http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=jamesandersson.com ) - and who owns it? Killathrill.

Oh yeah, and then there's the whole matter of the jamesandersson.com website claiming that the "pilot" placed 15th in the Red Bull Air Race in Detroit... which I can guarantee didn't happen, because I was there: http://astroman-rich.livejournal.com/22056.html . Not to mention that it's hard to place 15th in a field of 12.

It's an ad, to get people to see and talk about a plane with thier name on it.

and damn if it aint workin'

What puts you in a position to claim it's not?

    Lack. Of. Evidence.

Combined with a track record of seeing lots of really cool YouTube videos that turned out to be hoaxes

    alright then... it's prolly fake.

But damn, that means I'm even clueless about the latest in advertising... cuz I can't see how that won't backfire against the company when everyone finds out they've been scammed.

For some reason I suddenly have this urge to buy killathrill clothing. I'm guessing they don't make anything my size. Drat.

OOH! OOH!! Obama is on! Thank goodness for PBS!!

Hey, and I'm sorry for getting a bit snarky.

I'm just a jaded kid who has recently found out there is no such thing as magic, and I take my cynical pain out on innocent bystanders
