inkling, I saw another one like this when I was trying to get the scoop on the killathrill one. One thing that makes the first one impressive if it's a fake is the scale; if you get an RC plane that large in the frame, then you are on such a long lens that you could never keep the plane in frame as well as it is in that video, your movements and the plane's movement would be wildly exaggerated. Of course if you're doing the fake on a professional scale, you can overcome all that.

No problem on the snark, I got overconfident on this one myself. I'm still not convinced one way or the other, totally. But there doesn't seem to be much background on that "pilot", or the clothing company, for that matter.

The thing is, with the power and lightness of todays racing plane, it COULD happen.

It would be a whole lot messier then that video however... there would be twisted wreakage, but the pilot might walk away.

I have heard rumors of it auctually happening, just not on film.

    I dunno....

for the same reason that so many people believe that Oswald couldn't have been the only shooter of Kennedy.

I was thinking that one big difference is that event was on film, not video.

Film is much harder to fake.

(and no, I don't buy into JFK conspiracy theories)

It's a decent fake, but looks nothing close to real. The perfect landing, prominent advertising, and sharp focus give it away even if you somehow can't intuitively tell that the physics are all wrong.

Now the meteor hitting the Toyota, THAT was real...

"I think that it's the RC plane the whole way and somehow they digitally superimposed the guy getting out of the cockpit at the end." I would say bingo.

KillaThrill Generates Huge Buzzkill With Viral Airplane Crash Video

Well, the guys at KillaThrill are actually trying to keep the subterfuge going with a new website that shows their "pilot" in an interview right after his so-called flight. James Andersson is supposedly a pilot in the Red Bull Air Race, but if you notice the photos, you never actually see the Red Bull logo. Of course, a quick check with Red Bull themselves will show you he doesn't exist. Here's their roster in case you're curious:
