Hell yeah, that's like 250 in single years.

I'm actually in the middle of reading State of Fear that he wrote.

I read that book over two years ago and some of the scenes still disturb me. You'll know when you get to them.

Otherwise, a loss of a unique talent.

I've read most of Crichton's books, but none of his nonfiction. His first book was written while he was still at Harvard, I believe but wasn't published until later.

It was called Eaters of the Dead and contains a BIG surprise in the Epilogue.

I think Sphere had a hokey ending. It was almost as if Crichton felt he needed to end the book and pulled the ending out of his keyster in the last 4 pages or so.

Congo was another book that was not up to the standards I held for him. The movie of the same name was worse than terrible.

Disclosure and Airframe are among my favorites and Andromeda Strain is a masterpiece.

Agreed. On my list of all time bad, cheesy films.

Having that many wives and weddings would kill Rambo poor guy! If I ever read a book it will be one of his.

His official website www.michaelcrichton.net is well worth a gander.

MD, I forgot all about "travels". It was great.

The last chapter "Speech to Skeptics at Cal Tech" alone was worth the price of the book. I'm sure I'll read it again in the future.

The Abyss is one of my favorite books. The book was much better than the movie.
