Last of the 1914 generation!

I saw this obit of an elder in a JW congregation. He was born on Aug. 8, 1914 and recently passed away. He was born about a month and a half after the start of WW 1. Just FYI.

What a bummer, we all keep getting older. Without Armageddon soon, we might live to a ripe old age and then die. You know, like every generation before us. Even the 1914 generation:) They all seem to be going the way of old people.

I think it must have been sad for those folks in the days when 1914 generation 'dying off' was touted as a sign of the times. . .how would you like to have been one of those old people and reminded a couple of times a week that you were a goner! Grim.

ya...no wonder we/they thought soooo much of ourselves....geeze were were incredibly special of the specials....what are the odds....every human in history...every single one....all died...many actually grew old...then died....but NOT US!............we not only are the only ones with all the true answers, but we will be unlike any humans that ever lived.......puke.....oompa

OBVIOUSLY YOU HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE NEW LIGHT! "A wicked and adulterous GENERATION seeks a sign." THATS what Jesus meant by his use of "genea" (generation) not a LITERAL generation! It's, like, way kewl and stuff, when, like, reality is only a theory and stuff, and everything is, like, totally up for grabs and stuff, you know? Gotta PLOW now!

What does it mater? In 95 they changed the meaning of "generation" Now we are all of that generation. The time line is not held to a literal generation from the date of 1914. Now it is just soon, close, we are at the tip of the pencil. LOL I have always likened their teaching to the cartoon that when they are boxed in a corner they just whip out a black hole and slam it against the wall and PRESTO an escape route. How many dates do you have to see that passed before you come to the logical conclusion that it is all bunk.

My poor dad was talking last night about how "close" we are to the End of this System of Things......Apparently, the newest rumour in Dubdumb Land is that Obama is such a 'smooth talker' and he's mentioned something about world peace in one of his speeches, that (hopefully) he'll be the one to get the other leaders of the world to declare 'peace and security'.

I can't help but wonder how many more 'generations' it's going to take for JW's to collectively realize that the whole things a crock.
