I posted a link to your piece from the "Learn about Jehovah's Witnesses" board on Beliefnet. One JW is currently trying to defend the big destruction thing claiming that the Bible doesn't specify which buildings are earmarked for destruction.

Seems to me the wt advocates voilent agression from an almighty power against 99.9% of earths population, who are comparativley totally defenseless. I could never understand why God would destroy buildings. I thought that the Bible said that He is going to destroy evil people.
Is this the scenario? All buildings will be full of only evil people, because the righteous ones will be warned to stay home that day. All of the buildings around the WTS will be destroyed. The only ones left standing will be the WTS buildings."

I hate to say that I also don't see the WTC in the scans depicted, and, since my books are still packed from my recent move, can't access a Revelation book in hard copy to get a better look.
But, if these pictures do depict the WTC, wouldn't that count as, in effect, another false prophecy by the Watchtower? After all, the illustrations are depicting destruction at Armageddon, and, obviously, those buildings won't exist then...
(OK, I'm grasping at straws here, but it's fun to think up this stuff.)

The illustration on page 52 is a composite of various political structures. The one cropped from the page is actually the UN building in New York city. The illustration portrays the building being split in two which makes it resemble the WTC, The full picture shows the the assembly building with dome surrounded by smoke while the main tower is exploding in flames.

Bush is a wacked out Born again christian. He thinks the USA is a city on a hill and a beacon to the world. I wouldn't be surprised if his favorite reading is the Left Behind series by La Haye.
JW's are harmless compared to the "troop blessers" that claim to follow the Prince of Peace.
