"Mom, why would He do such a thing?"

    Essie,
This post reminds me of my childhood. To this day my mom reminds me of the "game" she used to play with us. "Who do I love more than anyone in the world? I love Jehovah most" Even more than us mommy? "Yes, I will always love Jehovah more" I won't even go into the stories she told us of the great tribulation and having to choose between us being killed before her eyes, or standing up for Jehovah. Just gives me warm fuzzies to know as a kid she even put those thoughts in our mind...sick, sick, sick.

At least your daughter has you and Justin to balance the wackiness of that religion

So sorry Essie, that is so sad. Leah is very lucky to have you and Justin. You sound like you handled it very well

Nice fake story; what surprises me, though, is that these other jerks are stupid enough to believe in your fairytales of hatred!

An interesting turn of phrase "fairytales of hatred" when you consider the content of most of the WatchTower articles!

And if this board is the only place that you have heard such accounts or experiences, then you obviously haven't given a listening ear to your Brothers and Sisters in your own congregation.

Hey Ven, yes you know this person by reputation. It's T's sister and the infamous Brad. Sorry, I think I promised not to use his name anymore.

*rofl* Thanks TR, for that succinct, stunning rebuttal! You made my morning and had me doing a spit take with my coffee.

There is absolutely nothing I can add to that *lol*

Oh, except maybe that I wish I was making this stuff up. Maybe then I would have gotten some sleep last night.

Thanks for all the support and kind remarks, guys and gals. They are appreciated :)

    Hippie...Peace.

p.s. TR! I miss your old Burke quote. (I think it was Edmond Burke?) It has become my all time favorite.

    *hugs*

    ((((Essie, Leah, and Justin))))

I am grateful that you and Justin are there for Leah. What a lucky kid! It does sound like she has an old wise soul. I've always felt like that. Understanding too much before you're really old enough to know stuff like this. I'm sorry that she has to be confused when she visits "your idiot." Keep lovin' her and talkin' to her - you sound like a fantastic momma!

    Old Hippie,

Show us anywhere in the WTS literature where it directs us to love our children more than Jehovah, then. If you cannot do that, I can certainly show you a bunch of places where dumb dubs are told to act and believe EXACTLY like Essie's former husband.

Speaking of "hatred," have you read JanH's article "A Gospel of Love or a Gospel of Hate?" You can find it on Kent's site. Why don't you read it and try to refute it? You can't, that's why. The WT religion is the one that promotes hate, and that's why they end up with idiotic DipFucks like you.

    Esse-
It is NEVER easy to deal with EX's and the horrible way that they use the children to hurt us.. but by doing what you have been being there for her and helping her to realise not everyone gives "conditional Love" is the best you can -
I can remember when my x-mother-in-law told my 8 yr old that the baby I was carring (to my 2nd husband) would be so much more lucky than him as the new child wuld have its Mom and Dad living with it - something he would never have...I was furious at first, but then I turned to him and said -
"OH honey, I'm so glad you told me this - now when the new baby gets upset we shall know why!!"
My son looked at me puzzled - then I said " because they will only have 1 Mom and 1 Dad to Love them.. and you have 2 of each...!"
This satisfied him ( and upset my x-mother-in-Law! )

You have done a similar thing - and by explaining in ay she understands is the best thing..
Good Luck in the courts been there before too!

    Lydia
