RESTRANGLED- Very true what you say. Something has been lost in the JW religion, exactly, called being authentic and a normal , caring human being. You are right- all we can do is be there for our JW relatives if they get sick, or show them we are not evil monsters - but will help them more in need than their own cult members would. Good points. Peace out, Mrs. Flipper says hi ! too ! , Mr. Flipper

When shown love without the strings attached, it gets them thinking I'm sure. I'm happy she phoned you Mr. Flipper.

LOUBELLE- Unconditional love is the best kind, isn't it ? I'm glad my sister called me back too. Thanks for the kind thoughts

People with chronic health issues are forced to slow down and are quickly not the center of attention in the dub world. The dubs have little use for weakness, be it physical, mental or spiritual. That is a rude awakening.
How true!!! Possibly the wonderful witnesses have not been flocking to her bedside. Or she may feel guilty about missing the meetings since she has been sick and realize how she viewed others who were not able to be at every meeting.
No matter what the reason, it is nice to have contact with family. Had you tried to force her to "see" the truth about JWs in the past, perhaps she would not be contacting you. Goes to show that LOVE NEVER FAILS.
This is a good reminder to any who have family that shuns them. Treating others with kindness does sometimes get results. Hang in there.
Hope it continues, flipper.

QUANDRY- Thanks . I feel too that if we show real love, authentic caring , it may cause the witnesses confusion because they are told we all turn into monsters once we leave the witnesses. So it's good for them to see that their non-witness relatives still are caring, loving people - and you are right , they may see the difference that some of the JW's they know are NOT showing them proper fellow feeling. One can only hope, eh ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

So happy she called you... I too am sorry it is pain that allows her to respond. But isnt it great that she was able to !!! She must have had a minit of independent thinking Good for her
Moshe said>>> I know it is hard for a religionist to believe, but non-theists can be very caring people. Since they no longer look to a supreme being to make things right, they roll up their sleves and attempt to make the world a better place. Thanks for sharing your story
I am not a religionist ,I have a realtionship with MY GOD, but my Dad was an Atheist he was KNOWN for helping people.

MOUTHY- Thanks , I appreciate it. I too think my sister had a moment of independent, non-witness thinking to call me. I'm glad she called too - even though it was her pain that inspired her to call. Your dad sounded like he was a great man, very caring. I'm sure a lot of it rubbed off on you Mouthy ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

People change. I know I did. I used to defend Witnesses no matter what. I used to preach extra hours above my pioneer service. I gave talks about how almost everyone could pioneer.
I treated my disassociated brother badly. Now I am trying to be fair and kind to everyone, and the only ones treating me bad are my Witness family and some friends.
But I think you are right, as more and more time goes by, and the constant talks about the end being near getting old, more and more may start realizing at least some things.
