Call me old fashioned but I hate the new (Last two) James Bond movies. Bring back Roger Moore, corny one liners, and scantily dressed women ....please.
I saw it last week, and to be honest it didnt have a plot really, which was disappointing. Daniel Craig is cute though.
It's actually Casino Royale 2. It continues where Casino Royale left off. The bad guy isn't as interesting in this one.
the bad guy does have creepy solid black eyes and yellow teeth, ya he could have been more evil or something.......it has plenty of good action in it...but i miss all the bits of humor in the old ones too........oompa
Nina wants to see this, so we'll probably skulk around the theater.
Casino Royale was all right. Not great but worth the $7. I thought it dragged a bit, the endless poker game for example. I think they're trying to make Bond into a British Bourne Identity series.
Chris, I thought Daniel Craig was the best. Kewl , calm and collected and a killer with no conscience. Those eyes say it all.
Thanks everyone !
I am back home hiding out instead of doing the Southwestern territory (yea for gated communities with no other JWs!).
Today I was paired with a semi-zealot returnee who is looking to make a good impression, but she is feeling really sick (but she didn't want to disappoint the Brothers). I took her home and told her I would drive out and stick the tracts in the gates (SW is all ranches with no tresspassing signs and is well over 100mi of driving) if she stayed home and wrote letters to the territory which I will pick up later tonight.
So I guess I will watch Casino Royale first then Quantum.
We really enjoyed it. I think Daniel Craig is the best Bond so far but hey - that's just me. sammieswife.
I didn't like it myself and I didn't really like Casino Royal much either, these two movies had certainly lots of action and suspense, but as far
as a characterization study on the key characters it comes up kind of thin, particularly with Quantum.
I think the script writing for these two movies heavily revolves around the action scenes too much , leading and ending ,
the dialog in between to support the story comes up short.
And what happened to the light hearted humor and the funky new gadgets that Bond usually got for each episode, those things
and others were what made the previous films so entertaining and fun to view.
Personally I think these last two films lack imagination and escapism which previous bond movies had and is what made them appealing .
Instead the producers are intensionally trying to make these films with more realism and with more grandiose action scenes to draw in the audience.
Maybe too they realize they don't have a Roger Moore or Sean Connery to support the films , those two really brought personality and character to the screen.
Daniel Craig's acting comes up as being one directional and narrow and not particularly entertaining at all, but then again that may be the cause of the script he's given.
I wouldn't recommend Quantum to anybody unless they were into dry and dark action films, not to be considered a feel good movie by any stretch.
