You mean to say you don't have mailbox apartment complexes?
I live in a rural route area, our mail is deposited in a row of multi-level boxes, similar to those you rent as a PO box at the post office.
Everyone within about a 5 mile radius has an assigned box number and key. They intall a couple of large boxes about 10 times the size of the mail boxes, so as to place larger parcels...they leave the key to the large boxes in with your mail..the key will only open the door once and the mailman has to retrieve it to lock again.
I like empty milk cans much more artistic than mailbox apartments! Don't know how confident I would be, reaching down into that dark can though...wondering what might be hiding there...Steph and his spider riden cubby an all.
we don't have anything that uniform, i'd love to post some photos here one day, you'll rarely see two letterboxes alike in australia, even in the cities, it's a sort of pride in individualism thing .. you see some very funny and imaginitive ones (like ones where the posty delivers in a cows mouth and it's retreived by lifting a tail etc.. most try to make there's match thier house .. it's all very urban art meets i couldn't give a shit. Sometimes it doesn't pay to have a good looking one in a rough area .. I made a beautiful one of varnished red cedar once and the next day found it ripped out and being used as a football .. lol..
poor yabfluf, delivering US mail weekdays and delivering Gods mail on weekends lol
