A work colleague gave me this poem to read, when she realized how hurt I was about an ex JW 'friend' shunning me at work.
It really stopped me pining, not for the organization of course, but for the relationships I had formed over the years.
"There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters,who won't anymore,and who always will. So ,don't worry about people from your past,there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future"

The best friends I had back in Cleveland, we lived next door to each other and took our vacatioins together and went out to dinner on the weekends and played cards and other games.
We said good bye to them back in 81 when we moved to Florida.
They visited once or twice.
Then they got divorced about 85.
Since then they have both moved to Florida within an hour drive of where my wife and I live.
But, we have all seen each other. We all get together for Christmass and New Years even though they are divorced.
We have gone out with her and her husband and her ex-husband.
Kind of weird but in my 55 years I've had weirder experiences.
