    YoYo:

It's not a good idea to tell other people what they think. They will probably disagree with you. The rest of us will know that you are not as psychic as you claim.

My goal is simply to make it to a new system of things. That's it.

    BINGO!

I gotta give you that, YoYo. At least you're honest. Most JW's would never admit to that.

That's the bottom line isn't it?

Advocate the destruction of families, the denying of life saving medical treatments, and the ignoring of false prophesies and glaring contradictions.

Well, YoYo, I hope your ticket is worth the price of admission.

    YoYo,

Expecting perfection from imperfect humans and then trying to tell Jehovah how to deal with it. As if Jehovah needs our input.
Pure bullshit. Who the the hell EVER said they would expect perfection? Give just ONE example. You can't. Just another bogus statement of cognitive dissonance from a 'hovah.

    Hi Yoyo

I was not long ago where you are about "apostate" lit, but here's something that came to strike me as odd:

That "Brooklyn" (who that constitutes is left to the devining of each individual JW) demands that JWs accept in whole, without question or quibble, the "truth," "new light" (which can deviate mightily from "our previous understanding"), instruction, "suggestion," "encouragement," criticism, prophetic interpretation, Bible interpretation, clarified/enhanced/expanded/"tacking" explanation, justification, exhortation, counsel, directive and the like from them that arrives within the plain-wrappered pages of anonymously-authored "spiritual food," but that it is verboten to even thumb through any written word of "apostates" and "opposers" who gladly self-identify, calling out all who would refute their claims.

It stopped figuring to me that the "truth" is disseminated incognito, while author(s) of "apostate lies" sign their names to their stuff. Logic started to suggest to me that perhaps that should be the other way around. Sheds...er...new light on the whole "Witness Protection Program" concept.

    Yo-Yo:

But there are also many gray areas that are handled by the Service department of the WT. They try to weigh those gray areas with Bible laws and principles.
May I ask why you need men in the WT Service Department for guidance in those “gray” areas? You can reach a decision without them and their literature. I know the GB doesn’t think you are capable of this (poor stupid little weak sheep!).

God made each one of us personally responsible for establishing a close relationship with Him and living our lives according to his principles. Understanding the “how” was never meant to be that difficult or the vast majority of us would be out to lunch. When the answer is not clearly stated, you should be free and able to call on the Holy Spirit and your own bible-trained conscience for the answer. That is your God-given right and responsibility.

The role of religious leaders has become far too important in all religions. Spiritual leaders were not meant to have the powerful influence and authority that they wield upon us. They should be there to provide a service and advice to you IF you need them. They were never meant to dictate every square inch of your life. That is not spiritual freedom…that’s prison. You don’t need the WT Service Dept’s literature or the GB to tell you exactly what to do, be your interpreter, or run interference for you. JW’s accept “collective” instruction without question and without hesitation. That is why we call the organization a collective “Borg”. JW’s begin to sound like robotic parrots mimicking everything presented to them. That would be fine if the instructions were coming from God's organization but the WTS is NOT that organization. If it was, I'd say God was having a hard time making up his mind about some things. Don't think so! It is just a group of men with the same problems as every other religion. They commit the same sins (some worse, e.g., death from blood refusal, etc.) as “Christendom” but are totally oblivious to the harm that they do. What do you tell a Brother who lost his dear wife because of refusing to accept a bone marrow transplant (per Borg rules) only to have the organization “OK” the procedure several years later as “new light”. How do they sleep at night? The next time the Borg offers “new light”, think about those who may have been harmed because of the “old light”. Of course, the "old light" may become "new light" if you wait long enough!

Yo-Yo….Each GB member has their own relationship with God to worry about (big time). Don’t give them yours, too.

    Hey Ginny,

Somehow your post got buried under the jw-thinking of Yo-Yo. Fine post about honesty. When we start looking, it's hard to keep looking, because we know what we're finding out - the truth about the WBTS.

And it's hard to see, to comprehend. Because when we comprehend, we must appreciate that we've been duped - and played a part in it.

Now the decision is ours......to be honest with ourselves or to continue to be herded by organizations.

    Thanks.

    ROTFLOL, YoYoMama,

So we're just stubborn and won't forgive them their little imperfections, eh? Okaaaaay! I'm only home a couple of hours right now, but as soon as this driving contract is over (23rd of Dec.), I'll give you a better idea of what the problem really is.

Someone else wanted to know a little more about my background, so I'll answer that too. My only question is "When does loyalty to an organization become disloyalty to Jehovah?" Where would you draw the line? Or are you of the same mind as some patriots: "My country, right or wrong"?

    Think about it.

you point is well on the money

when the boys in Writing take these "grey" areas and turn them into to STONE LAW and say this is Jehovah's will and that we are "spirit directed" then flip flop in 2yrs - for any person who does critical thinking the pattern will soon beome evident-
and that is simply they are merely GUESSING WITH FOLKS LIVES

.YOU are on point about jw COLLECTIVE MINDSET

the week before the alternative service article NO ONES CONSCIENCE WOULD ALLOW THEM TO WORK at the hospital instead they would go to jail and die- then a week later over 6 million folks conscienceses have changed and now they can work at the hospital

any real examination of that process clearly shows the matter was never a conscience matter but was a law that was abolished by a group of guys sittting around a conference room table

yes they play with folks lives and the kicker is if any other faith did the exact same thing the jw mindset would require them to dog that faith

2 sets of scales- how sad
